For anyone who may be considering attending PowerUp 2011, there are only 4 days left to pre-register online and receive the $20 Venue Pass rate. In-person Venue Passes are $30. You can pre-reg at the PowerUp Store.

I’m actually kinda willing to learn AE with Yang. >_>

Welp, I went ahead and picked up MK9 with Masaki tonight. The game is awesome and IMO feels MUCH better than the demo. I’ll have my copy next week for anyone interested in trying it out.

btw, for anyone wondering, we only had 6 people show up tonight, so we just ran casuals. I figure we’ll just run SSF4 next week anyway, and tack on an extra week for Marvel or something, unless this starts becoming an issue, then I’ll have to figure something else out.

I’ve decided to go to screenland this week in KC. Who else is going? Aniel is still deciding.

Hey guys. UFGT7, Chicago’s Evo Tournament Season qualifier, is only a month and a half away. You only have two weeks left to register at the normal rate, and orders for T-shirts and Stick-Bags will also cut off when we move to Late registration pricing. Pre-registration is mandatory this year. If you choose to register at the door, you will be paying the Emergency Registration fee. Registering this way means that you must be in line by 11am on Friday the 27th or you cannot be entered into any of the bye slots in the pools, as well, and you cannot be regionally seeded as the brackets will already be made.

The event is a full 3-day tournament being held Memorial Day Weekend (May 27th - 29th). Hotel rooms are the same low rate of $69/Night as last year. We’ve more than doubled our ballroom space and will be running 32-man-or-less pools for every game on the roster. We want to make sure your time is well managed and that you don’t spend time waiting around. Our increased space allows us to have ample room for BYOC, and for other special guests and activities.

Check the UFGT7 website for details, and if you have any questions, feel free to drop by our thread here on SRK.

Assuming there’s nothing going on with the family this Saturday (easter and all), I’m in. I’ll let you know if something comes up though.

Looks like its only you and me Torrey. Aniel said he would call in the last minute if he is going or not. I’ll meet you at your place at 9:00am.

I already let Sang know, but for anyone else that was planning on going this weekend, they’ve cancelled the Screenland tournament. If anyone feels like just hanging out for some games or something though, just lemme know, I’m free all day.

Yo Torrey, I’ll be over but it will be in the afternoon. I’ll call and let you know. We’ll get all three games in. MVC3, street fighter and a little MK9. Lol. It should be fun.

Hey Sang, meant to ask you about your plans for Evo yesterday. Let me know what you’ve got planned and I’ll see what I can work out. I can’t make any guarantees that I can go, but I will most certainly try.

Change of plans. I’ve got somewhere more important to be. So I’m saving my time off for somewhere else. Sorry man.

No problem. I might try to see what the KC crew is up to then.

Hey guys, my fiance and I were gonna try to make it out this Monday. Is anyone going to be playing MK9 4 player teams? We’re anxious to see how our Sonya (her)/Sub Zero (me) team fares. I’ll probably hop in on Marvel/Super as well.

I haven’t tried playing teams at all, but perhaps Sang and I could team up and give it a shot. Seeya there!

I’m down for it - 2v2 is really where the game gets fun.

What up springfield just subscribing to your new thread. Any word on a springfield tournament this summer?

Nothing really, unfortunately…haven’t really had time to get anything organized. Perhaps I can convince Jeff (the guy who ran it in 09) to throw us a bone one weekend or something. The main issue is that for a big tourney, we’d really depend on KC and STL attendance. We’d probably only have about 8-10 from the area max, quite honestly, not really enough to convince a place to let us rent out for a day. But I will definitely try to see what I can do this year.

But of course, if you’re feeling bored one Monday, you’re always welcome to come to our casuals/ranbats!

Maybe i’ll have to do that sometime. I’v been waiting for another full tournament but if its not going down stopping by for a monday would be cool. Im going to be staying with my brother at SEMO for a bit this summer and i don’t see any reason i couldn’t combine a meta monday with that trip at least.

Nice Rex. I definitly want to get some casuals in with you sometimes in the summer. I know zenkix wants to as well.

I also checked out the tier list on Viper and she’s top 5 on AE. Not saying I’m going to start winning, I’ll still lose a lot. Except now I look worst than before. lol.
