Kona - hope everythings OK and that you’re alright. How did that happen?
Stream is now 100% - I have Audio/Video/Overlays and pretty damn good quality/smoothness. The only thing I need now is artwork/stupid videos to throw in. If anyones good with art hook us up. We need a stream name!
I’m fine, just angry. I’m using my brother’s computer right now. It was one of my brother’s “friends” that stole it. He stole something of my brother’s as well. Funny thing is, the only thing that kid stole from me was my laptop. He took none of my games, systems, DVDs, or Blu-rays.
If anyone goes - I’d like to go down for the whole event - including finals. We could go back to my place for casuals that night too if it gets out before like 8/9PM.
Anyone for CP(CARPOOL)? hooooooyeah.
edit: I’m buying 2 EVO monitors this week or next, the only question I have is “is it worth it”? I read a few reviews saying CRTs are better. I imagine since its the “EVO” Monitor it must be TOURNAMENT ready/okay. Anyone know? Link me to them? Link me to something BETTER?
I might be down for Sunday. It depends on how Saturday goes cuz of animu fighters lol.
As for the Evo monitor, this is the one I recommend. It’s is Evo’s 2010 monitor as compared to Evo’s 2009 monitor. Both blueNINE and I have the 2010 model. I think it’s excellent as long as you set the 360s to 720p because of Marvel’s and SSF4’s native resolution is 720p. Since 360s upscales any game’s native resolution to 1080p (except for those already native 1080p ie. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood), upscaling causes input lag. I actually did test 1080p versus 720p. It’s virtually unnoticeable in single player/casual games, but noticeable in rhythm/fighting games. Also, since this Evo monitor only supports HDMI and DVI, only 360s with HDMI ports (arcade, elite, slim) work with this. PS3’s won’t be an issue cuz all of them have HDMI ports and the games automatically go to their native resolution. Turn game mode on as well. Also, you will need a separate pair of computer speakers because the monitors themselves don’t have any. On the bright side, it’ll come with an HDMI cable and a DVI cable for free. All in all, the price point is a little high and you do need separate speakers, but it’s a great monitor. It also conserves space considering it’s a 21.5 inches as compared to the CRTs you have. Picture looks great too. I have absolutely no issues transitioning from the monitor to CRTs.
Sorry if I overexplained things but I def did my research before buying one for myself lol.
I dunno why everyone calls them the 2010 evo monitors when probably 60%+ of the monitors were all still asus at evo last year. If your looking to just get some setups, I’d just get the asus considering the huge price difference. I’ve lag tested the asus’s and the lag is pretty much so unnoticable that its not even worth mentioning(gonna see if i still have the test pics). Now if you want a personal monitor for other stuff I’d go alienware, colors and image quality just look so much crispier.
