So I need some ideas to get some type of gathering going again in Greenfield. I had a nice MvC3 release party weekend gathering of the fighters from around the Northampton and Hadley areas for a 2-day casuals event out there. The person with the connects who ran the small gathering(dude named “KaimRuthless”) left back to Buffalo,NY and I missed a chance to scrape some advice off him about what I should do. First things first; I may start Advertising soon to have something in the summer. You guys have any tips on what I shouldn’t forget or shouldn’t do on the first time trying to get a small going? Kinda serious about it as well

MK9 is April1st. I hope its fun. MVC3 may be picked back up by the summer for me tho since I will need another game to play besides Rift.

Probably don’t forget how big the space is you’re offering for get-togethers, find out if you’re going to need extra systems/TVs/chairs/etc. Make sure you advertise on the threads of nearby places. I guess that’s pretty much it. If there’s anything else I missed and remember later, I’ll post up again.
Just to add to what Kona said, try not to schedule your event during a major or the same day as a local tournament. This usually screws everything up since it splits the players up.

I’m at school asking myself the same exact freaking question. I would have liked to walk around campus a bit this morning as it didn’t seem as bad as it turned out to be and I ended up dressing a little lighter than normal. Mac lab here we go!
Also, Ken reminds me of that guy Jack from Lost…I’m not sure why.
And no, don’t compare me to Hurley. I have literally been asked for autographs on the street because people say I look like him and I don’t (well at least when I had the long hair and beard a year ago). Not trying to rub myself on this but I am definitely more handsome than he is and a little less fat.
So Mk9 is coming out in a month and a half or so. I would like to let the thread know if anyone is interested in getting the game earlier than street date. Let me know and I will post again once the date comes closer.

MvC3 lobbys are so pointless better to just make 1 big party and pair up 1v1 and do best of 5 or 10 and just keep switching up
