Mitsuru is totally my kind of character design, but she’s a charge character. I’m fucking awful with charge moves… Depressing.
Really? When I was learning to play fighting games, I started off with a charge character because motions were too much for me at the time.
I have no sense of timing with charge moves. For me personally, it’s loads of trouble figuring out how to fit them into a gameplan or combo. Doesn’t help that every game seems to have different charge lengths.
My general rule of thumb for charge moves is hold the direction for 2 seconds. Once you get the hang of that, that’s when you go into specifics on how long/short you can charge for certain characters/games.
Take a charge character, and fire off your charge move in training mode, immediately hold your charge and whiff different normals before letting it rip again. You’ll start to feel the exact charge timing for the character after a while.
