So I was about to win a round today; round 1, I stunned my opponent. As I often do, I went for max meter in that particular case, which was Karakusa, naked LP Hayate, as he couldn’t survive even a jab after the Karakusa. I messed up the input fortunately and got an instant overhead j.LP, comboing and killing my opponent.
It was glorious.
Ok so I was playing this B+ Ryu… Saltiest nigga EVER. He had me twice and the necided to get caught HARD in the corner. I was, literally, one jab from death by perfect twice and… Two Karakusa (combo… Saved the ultra) later he was stunned lol. JHK+ultra= death for him. Second round same thing except I caught him in the corner with I combo into ex Hayate, fLK reset. He did CROUCH TECH. And of course I did MK Tsurugi, combo of Death LMAO at my Guile themes that day.
Then he messages me saying in a fag who jumped too much. I told him his salt was delicious. He said I’m a fag cause I was talking shit. I was like you messages me first! Lmao. He said the only reason I won was because I jumped so much. So I went back and watched the replay. R1 he jumped 3 times and I jumped 2. R2 he jumped 3 times and I jumped 4. R3 he jumped like 25 times lmao and I jumped twice!! I brought this to his attention and he was like I better not ever see you again I’m gonna whoop your ass. I told him thanks for the download. To that he did not respond. mind you this was ranked, and I got like 150 PP and 90 BP from this nigga…
Maybe 3 or 4 ranked matches later (I always do quick match) Lo and fucking behold I’m in his room again! Oh shit he’s about to whoop my ass right? Dude better kick me. Oh shit dude better not press ready. This motherfucker pressed ready! Ok let’s go. Little did he know that I watched this video like 6 times (I do that with all tough matches to see what I did wrong) so I was ready for his bullshit. I blew his ass up both rounds. He could land shit cause my defense was on Ray Lewis. Oh I knew it was about to rain saltwater.
So I got a message that said “you suck dude” to which I replied “we will let YouTube and SRK decide that…” and he didn’t like that NOT.ONE. BIT. (TDK reference anyone?) anyway this went on for some time until I asked if he wants his points back. Told him I’d give them to him if he asked nicely and he never responded LMAO. Oh these guys are so funny

Over the past month and a half, my total time in the training room has added up to just under zero hours! My execution has fallen off a cliff. Still managed to win all my sets last night. Even had one 8000 bp akuma at 7-1 before we ended it at 7-4. Just don’t think winning with crappy execution is a good thing, but…a win is a win : )

I hadn’t been in training mode in ages either and just wasn’t doing well at all. Then I went into training mode while watching Cross Counter Live for an hour and everything seemed back to normal. <.<
Ha, I find sometimes I just get into the right mindset after watching skilled players. I remember a week ago or so, I went on a 20 game win streak (give or take) after watching Shiro v. Gamerbee, that was some of the best play I’ve exhibited in awhile. I started using cr. mp x HC to get dash in chokes (or to bait reversals). I even fought an Adon and was able to completely shut down his jaguar kick/tooth game by using s. mk, s. mp, and n. jmp HK.
Part of that was playing good players as well…it’s hard for me to translate all the Shiro v. Pikagoma information when every Abel I play doesn’t play like Pikagoma. The respect in those matches was crazy! I’m sure most serious Abel players respect Shiro though.
Got my shit rocked by Mossad last night and forgot why I stopped playing this game.
Then I played a Honda in ranked that did nothing but sit in my dash range os’ing jab hands and AA lp headbutting and I remembered.
But man do I miss it. I can kind of see a bit of what I’ve learned in the other games I’ve been playing melting in to SF as well. KoF is really good for teaching you to read jumps instead of just reacting to them, and it’s made AA Fuki a lot easier. Plus your ground game has to be prime in KoF cause everything’s pretty sluggish by comparison. Really though, if you haven’t tried it, give it a shot.
And then Marvel’s pretty great for teaching you to deal with ulcers and horseshit in general. Laughed off most of my losses last night. Really, if you haven’t tried it, good shit.

I agree with everything… Other games help take away the sting of a tough SFIV loss. Not sure why lol, but it works. Instead of other fighters, though, I need a shooter or a nice RPG to ease the pain lol.

The good news is that I found the perfect spot on the xbox to lay a ice pack that will keep it from overheating (and scrambling the screen) allowing for atleast an hour of 2012 play. The bad news that the timing on xbox is different from pc. I dont know if it is input lag from the hacked pad that I have in my stick or if the two systems simply run at two different speeds but I can hardly do any moves. Lost about 900 pp playing ranked. I didnt post this in rage thread because I dont care about points on xbox. Im PC 4 LIFE!!! : )

Kinda shady but if you get the thermal glue fix and can at least “start” an xbox game disc you can trade it in the Gamestop for credit towards a new Xbox. Friend of mine did it and they just turned it on for 2 minutes to make sure it played a game disc and then he got a new xbox for like $50 after the credit from old Xbox

Almost managed to get out a good hayate cancel here… I did get out the cancel, and the combo I wanted afterwards, but they didn’t link… I still got really close though.
Got some Vega mad by stuffing his Sky High Claw with s.MP on a couple of good guesses. I checked the hitboxes on that move and was surprised that the hitbox was behind his hurtbox. That made me lol, the claw has no effect on range! He then messages me bitching about how s.MP > Sky High Claw was a “fucking bug” lol
