I was thinking of making a weekly tournament here, just dont really have the resources, but I know it would be the perfect spot for an fgc to flower.

We’re doing tournaments about once a month at Game On and It seems like we struggle to fill a 16-man bracket for SSF4 or an 8-man bracket for MvC3, even when we have people driving up from Moscow to participate. Since we already have issues with getting people to commit to a monthly tournament, you might not get too many people willing to show up on a weekly basis.
I’m not trying to kill your hopes and dreams here, just sharing what I’ve seen 
How many people do you know at Gonzaga who are interested?
As for rides, Ronny (!!KoreaNWhitEBoY!! on here) can probably help you out since he lives right near campus. Another option is to take the bus ($1.50 each way) but it doesn’t look like their routes take you that close to Game On.
Also, great games last night Ronny, Ben, and Chris! It was nice to work out the Marvel rust.

Yeah, every Thursday night from 6:00 - 12:00, $5 a night or $10 for the month. There’s usually around 8 people or so. It seems like most people prefer to play SSF4 but there are a few of us who play Marvel too. What do you typically play?
It sounded like the next tournament was tentatively going to be Thanksgiving weekend but that may get bumped to the next weekend because several people will likely be travelling.
Im mainly a marvel player, but I’m okay at street fighter. Coming from cali I used to play with people like combofiend, r. nguyen, and those guys, so maybe I can show you stuff in marvel and you guys can show me a thing or two in street fighter.

Yes we are. The LAN center runs XBOX 360 only for now and they are all hooked to XBOX Live and system linked together as well. Question for you guys: I was playing ranked matches in AE last night and won a Guy mirror match against “JohnChoiBoy.” Anyone know if that’s really John Choi? It looks like he goes by JohnChoiBoy on twitter. I know he wasn’t using Ryu but I was still stoked.

So in order to avoid all of the traveling issues around the holiday we have decided to host the next tourney…Salt Mines Round 3 (SSFIV, UMvC3, and SMASH)on Dec 3rd. (we will also host one on Jan 7th while Troy aka LoyalSol is in town) So same ol same ol…$5 venue fee, $5 per tourney that you enter and we will be starting at 3pm!!

Isn’t 3 PM a little late to be starting? It seems like we started the last one a bit earlier than that and it ran pretty long. Otherwise, December 3rd works for me!

Mike, do you have your copies of UMvC3 yet or do we need to bring some for Thursday?
Well if we start any earlier than that everyone seems to be running late. This time we r just going to use more systems for ALL of the matches. It should run a little faster. Also I have not picked up any copies of UMvC3 yet so if anyone could please bring their disc that would be awesome. I am pretty sure Ben said something about bringing his copy as well. I think your copy and Ben’s copy will probably be enough for Thursday. We may need a couple more for the tourney though so thank you!! Hopefully we see everyone on Thursday night.
