I have some questions. The move you were doing against potter in the PSM grand finals where spiral would float in the air and then come straight down like a rock whats the button combination for that. The trouble i am having with spiral is she keeps sticking her hands up in the air how do you prevent whats the button sequence for that so I will know how to avoid it.

Qcb+hk is Spiral’s Quickdrop move, and it also puts Spiral in a normal jump state allowing her to call an assist mid-air anytime after the command is entered.

In the air qcb+Hk … quick drop. Good thing about it is that it allows you to call assists as you drop (and you get a tiny bit of meter)
Really useful if you have commando assist and you are fighting floating storm, good against sent if you don’t over abuse it.

The last move your’e talking about is her spiral buster grab (f,d,d/f + P). Can’t be teched. Good for finishing aircombos - you can control where you throw them - best to toss them forward then reload swords. On cable and other people who can’t airdash you can toss them up, then do another spiral buster.
Also good in the corner - eg cable AAA hits, reload swords, j or sj wos (qcf+Lk) - blocked - spiral buster as they come out of blockstun, or sj Hk throw, launch for a mean ass corner combo.

You guys should just use the ignore feature - this crazy retard dude is probabaly from gamefaqs - dude accused me of stealing JustinK’s team in the morrigan thread.:wtf:

She has no real infinite that I know of, maybe some sentinel only or w/e, but she has a semi-infinite you can use while on Speed up mode (I think its QCF+LK,HK or QCB+LK,HK) dont know the command for sure and I dont have the game right now so yeah. Once you get speed up, you can set it up just by getting a HK to connect then dash LK then follow with HK and repeat that. As for her guard breaks the only one i try doing, which I also dont recommend unless its gamewinner or if your really on the lead and want to show off is before the next character comes out, you do Circle swords (QCF+LK with Swords) and activate Metamorphosis(sp?). Again I dont recommend doing it unless it will win you the game or just for shits and giggles cuz the super is 3 meter, which could better be used with sentinel or cable.

If I made any mistakes on legends and commands just correct me, cuz its like 12:30 am and Im dead tired.

I honestly didn’t remember the answer to your question myself until you asked how to do it and I researched it. I just think quickdrop and it happens. I don’t remember how to do say, expanding knife circle either. If someone tells me the command, that’d be great. I don’t care since; I just think it, and it goes out. This leads me to another point.

Spiral’s qcb+k moves are all based on mobility. I know her teleport is the qcb+lk, so by process of elimination, her quickdrop is qcb+hk. If you know how to teleport, you’ll also know how to quickdrop by knowing this association.

Everything else like say, expanding knife circles, or AC into knife circle into supergrab is something I don’t remember how to do, but can literally do at will.

How I guardbreak is I kill the guy in the corner, dash up, sj, expanding knife circle [I usually TK it]canceled to supergrab, then I snatch them, and if I’m now enough that the next character’s super can hit, I DHC out. Maybe there’s a better one. I do remember seeing it. If anyone has a better one, maybe they can post it.

Spiral’s infinite only works on Servbot to my knowledge. Corner him, grab super him, and when he falls, you keep doing ducking lightpunches over and over, and over again.

All opponents will at some point cause you to block with their assist. It doesn’t matter which assist they are - your main game plan is to not get hit and focus on your blocking while only calling your assist ( cable assist to counter theirs or commando after their assist is done with their moves ) when you can protect them or they are at full health. In my first post above you need to strengthen that - only then will you be able to build on your game. How can you fight someone if you can’t block or be patient? Does it make sense?

Campy cable or sent are not ass hard as you think as long as you can get knives out safely against them - these two big characters tend to get stuck in the spiral trap for a good amount of time. Chip them - take the lead and patiently keep that lead while frustrating your opponent. Build some experience in that fight and you should be able to beat it.

There are people out there who could probably do crazy ass combos and set ups with spiral and do well with it - nothing wrong with that at all. For me though - I like to keep things basic. You don’t need to be fancy to win with her. Patience and blocking skills is all you need.

I watch alot of your matches and Ive been playing smarter with Spiral. And ive been winning alot. Thanx. Some things I do in matches:

When storm goes to the top of the screen and throws vertical typhoons, I call cable and do a teleport with FP and throw knives or I keep teleporting with FP till they get tired of throwing typhoons.

When Magneto dashes forward, and I have knives loaded, I do a tk circle knives. Spiral barely leaves the ground and magneto runs into them, then I can land fast enough to do jab strong snapback.

I use her quick drop to leave knives in the air on the way down.

Also, use her quick drop and call assist then teleport behind them. I abuse the hell out of that teleport btw.

Which team are you playing with? If you have cable or commando anti air - if at anytime your opponent gets hit by your AAA you automatically get a free load of knives. When an opponent chases after you and you have knives - what I would do is call my assist and either throw her knives very slowly so you can reload again and start the trap from the ground or dash up with standing FP if they are on the ground. When your FP is almost done with its animation you should be able throw slow knives and call your sent assist to start the trap. If you don’t have knives don’t worry - as long as your blocking is top notch you are in control. What can a mag do to you if they can’t hit you right?

OMG, I just beat 8 different ppl today with Team Duc at Gameworks.
I totalled 17 wins in a row w/ Team Duc, until I lost to Team Scrub (bastard knows how to sj AHVB out of the trap).

I could only win a few matches w/ MScyke & Clockw0rk, I faced against some MSP’s, Scrubs, Santhraxes, and this guy’s SScable (kicked my ass).

This thread is the Shit, i would have never beaten those guys w/o it.

Good job dude - keep up the good work. Study the spiral vids you see online and pick and choose the good stuff and apply that to your game play. Over time your experience will grow and you should be able to beat any team with this team - it’s going to be a tough and easy road altogether.
