Found this a while ago but this thread is kinda dying.
Spiral can do launch, sj lp, mp quick drop, Hk airthrow… as they bounce you can dash and juggle (even midscreen) with Lp +AAA, Mp.
Just have to input the dash really quickly.
Good damage when combined with her Hk and drones, 3 swords dash…combos
EDIT - you can launch as well (instead of doing s.Lp juggle)

There’s several problems:
Doom sucks as a character compared to Sent.
For Doom assist to do beefy chip, you have to pin the person down. So you either leave both you and Doom vulnerable by expending all of your swords to pin the opponent down, or you leave them easy pockets to get out.
Doom assist is much more easily stopped than Sent assist(just kick him in the head), mostly due to super armor, but also because of how the drones come in.
Sent assist serves as a ghetto AAA to stop overheads if your cable gets wiped out or you’re left with only spiral/sent for some reason.
c. short, c. forward, s. fierce + sent-g xx qcf+pp (dhc hvb) dhc HSF often = death.
I’ve tried Spiral/Doom… extensively. It just doesn’t compare to spiral/sent, which has very few gaps and that you need the likes of storm/mag with very risky moves (like dash up with Mag, s. fierce to stop a sword reload on the ground) to stop her.
Since Spiral is one of my best characters, I’ve tried many, many combinations to get her going with other assists, and nothing seems to come close. It’s unfortunate in many regards, because it really lowers the variety of spiral teams you can use in this game. The 2 best I’ve found are (no surprise) Spiral/Cable/Sent and Spiral/Sent/CC.
in short, you need an assist that allows spiral to reload her swords during it’s block/hit stun and it’s a projectile (so assist doesn’t get repeatedly hurt). Ideally, you’d want an assist that works well with the 2nd character and the assist character is decent on his own(in order to compete with top tier teams in the event that you get snapped out). Ironman-a doesn’t allow for long enough blockstun, and ironman-a doesn’t seem to work so well with other characters. Cable-a is too brief in blockstun, too, if I recall correctly, and counter AHVB is just too awesome.
nah i don’t buy all of that. its really no big deal because he’s not disagreeing with you. but
you can’t really ever shit on doom assist; Spiral/Doom functions as easily as anything/Doom does. Have you ever seen vidness’ spiral/doom? Just throw less swords, use speed up mode, mixup with CoS, use the threat of swords to cause them to react-- if they jump, watch for assist, drop doom, teleport. If they stay grounded then shit, recall swords. If you get used to mindless sword recalls with Spiral/Sent then yes, you won’t have success with doom.
eddie lee plays a mean sprial/strider/doom, spiral doom is amazing with power ups and its not about the trap, its about the amount of chip and position of projectiles on the screen, spiral/sent is better than spiral/doom in my opinion, but spiral/doom does fairly well against good players. speed up and power up are necessary to make this duo function.

is there a difference on which punch you use to call out swords for example, lp version comes out quicker, hp swords do more dmg, or you can cancel hp into lp version…

how do you make the HP throw last longer? i’ve seen a video where duc took out 30% of sentinels health with hp throw…is there a certain way to mash on it? can you mash out of the throw?

The only difference is recovery - I"ll test later if Hp swords do more but I’m pretty sure they don’t. I cancel standing Hp with Lp swords.
For throwing just mash the buttons and wiggle the stick - they can counter mash out of the throw too.
You can also call drones - grab - don’t mash - then launch as they get hit by drones. Posted earlier by Duc - quite nice - you launch sj 1,2,3, 4, spiral buster - reload swords.
More safe tag stuff from page 2

If an opponent was hit by an assist such as cables you can do normal jump, knife, knife, knife land, knife, knife+LP if you are switching in the second character. Make sure they block your first knife before you tag out. To get the timing down go into the training room and have the computer do normal jump. Practice throwing your knives during normal jump at a speed where all 6 knives will combo your opponent. That’s the speed you should throw your knives for this tag out.
A different kind of tag out where you can combo cable into an opponent is dash up lk,lk rh, wait a sec, knife knife, knife, lk+lp. If you do this right it should combo cable in. It’s a good way to get him in and position yourself to ahvb any opponent should you have any supers to use. You can do this with the HP too but the timing is a little different. I hardly do the FP version because there’s a higher chance your opponent can block - only do this if it necessary and you know you won’t get this kind of chance again.

You can also safe tag with throwing 2 swords - tag - and while she is in her tag out animation you can quickly throw 2 swords - next character comes in and you have the 4th sword cover them.

I pretty much just read through the this entire thread. Duc, you had inspired my Spiral some time ago. I played her since she was unlocked and got pretty decent. One thing about me: I am never above being taught. This entire thread has been a wealth of knowledge for anyone who wants to play her. That’s why there is only one thread under her name…
Here is a video of me vs one of Michigan’s top players. The Rushdown God himself, VDO. I know better than to fight him with her,or anyone on my team except Cyke. This entire match is done out of fear on my part.
Not really spectacular overall, but I am proud of my performance.
I think mostly everything has been covered except her kick air throw. In the corner, when you attempt the throw, you have to pull the stick AWAY from the corner to throw them IN the corner.
After the first throw, I will launch (not allowing them to come near the ground) follow them up. I'll tap out Jab, Short, Strong then grab them again. I have only been able to throw them twice in one launch. After that, I go for a standard air combo after the SJ. If I remember right, "Raise the Roof" will whiff (DP throw).
I don’t think it works after the 2nd throw but I’d like to be proven wrong on that.
If you have a decent pinning assist, after the 2nd throw: c. lk, pause, hp + assist, reload swords. The idea is to force them to block the hp so that you can call your assist and then reload swords safely.
