I tested it out and it seems to be a significant amount of invul. Atleast up to the first active frame. you will notice it on any hyper cancel after an alpha counter (for beam ultra). I tried to get a beam and deadpool guns to hit it on the way in and as long as you’re close enough you will win the battle on an alpha counter (sans ultra)

I would like to add that, in practice, Dead Angles aren’t particularly good in this game, even when you have a broken one like Jills. They are slow enough that most times the other guy can just block. However, this isn’t all bad, as where jill gets a jump cancel for pressure, Viper can feint out the TK for mixup as I believe a feinted TK (on block) is something like +10.

Also, @Gottnoskill: What combo are you doing after a Dead Angle feint TK? I was just doing air series into EXBK into another air series.

You can get a gauge free relaunch there if you don’t want to EX BK by using super jump C, S xx 214A~S, C, S xx 214A~S, C, S -/

<---- Need some help. currently working with viper/magneto/wesker & viper/magneto/dante

i’m finding myself using viper till she dies. then the remainig 2 characters are my team. What can I do to make viper & magneto work better together?? and if I DHC into magneto, what options work with mag/viper/wesker or dante???

Drop Wesker, he doesn’t do much for Viper IMO.

Viper/Dante/Magneto is IMO one of the best teams in the game. It has one of the best space control games and all of them have scary rush down with each other’s assists.

Viper/Dante/Magneto is very powerful, but in my opinion you’re trading synergy for having magneto on the team. Not that that is a bad thing, Magneto still has good synergy and is a beast of a character, but every time I use that team I wish I had a different gun backing viper up.

magneto can be in the middle for DHC trick from mag = > dante in case viper dies. i think any team has a non-DHC trick point character can hang that way. my current team doesn’t have any DHC trick but it’s all good.

i must practice the bk feint loop in the air so i can save myself some meter!

Viper/dante/mags is my team and it’s very powerful. Though i agree other assists like plasma beam, unibeam or arrows are a bit better than em disruptor, but it’s still a very solid assist. I would not say it’s trading synergy in general for a better character, i would say it’s trading synergy with viper for synergy with dante. Dhc trick off of a random hit with dante into TAC mags is just way too stupid. ^^ i also really love mags.

I actually forgot about the DHC glitch when I said that actually. Though Unibeam (and likely plasma beam) will let dante use bigger combos (and visa versa), and trish+dante is amazing (and DHC capable). As you love mags, I <3 Iron Man.

I’m gonna need to practice that stair loop I guess. My fingers get dumb with that loop and I keep accidentally feinting out the wrong BK. Practice will fix that.

I finally decided to learn/invest time into Trish and going to team her up with Viper. I know some of you have tried this duo, what are your opinions on it?
I have this team in mind: Trish(Voltage)/Viper(Seismo)/Dante(Jam Session)
I’m not sure whether I should start with Viper or Trish on this team. Starting with Viper I could go for crazy TAC combo’s into Trish > Round Harvest > Tag in Viper > Unblockable. Or I could start with Trish and hard knockdown into same setup.

Doesn’t seem like a super solid team as of now, but sounds hella fun to me.

What do you mean by bigger combos? I can extend my dante combos with disruptor in different ways, i.e. Vulcano - disruptor hits - j.S for more otg loops. I think the downside of disruptor is the fact that it doesn’t create nearly as much blockstun as uni-/ or plasma beam. Though teleport mixups with dante and disruptor still work very well.

I personally like starting viper first, bit you can definitely swith it upa depending on the matchup. I played a lot of dante/trish and, like flyingVe said, it’s an amazing combination. The dhc capabilities of those two can kill every character in the game off of any dante hit without glitch.

With mags on point and viper second you can combo into hyper grav, tag in viper, the tag hits and combo off of it with H tk feint on hit, burst time. Burst time doesn’t scale much and adds another 180 dmg to mags’ already damaging loops, this way you can 800 dmg with only one meter.

My big issue with the other beams is that they knock the opponent over. This isn’t bad, but with unibeam I don’t even need to think about it. Though Unibeam dos scale damage really hard. I’m not a big Mags user so I am probably missing alot of tech there.

As for Dante/IM you can use unibeam to get another jS in, or, depending on combo, another prop-shreder launch. On the other end with IM, you can get a little more meter and damage at the end with smart bombs>JamSession>Repulsor>Spread>Super

As for Viper+Trish. I usually go Viper/Trish/Dante, Viper is stupid dangerous on point, so the team is really just Viper/Dante until viper goes down, and then Trish/Dante. I like dante in back because he’s a better anchor. The round harvest>focus thing I usually treat as a back up, rather than the primary trick. Also, Trish can DHC glitch to Dante for 1-hit kills, and Dante>Trish DHC’s are really good in general (JackPot>Round Harvest>tag dante>22S>jS/hammer>OTG stuff). Lastly, I think seismos plus low voltage is pretty hard to get around, even if it isn’t the end all be all.

Yea Iron Mans beam scales pretty hard but I basically use the assist to set up mixups because even if they block it you have a good amount of time to set something up. Of course if I land the hit and get a combo I will, a cleam Unibeam and you can still squeeze out 600K (I think?) which isn’t bad considering how good that assist is.

Any general tips on how to fight against people who tend to stay above that seismo range and attack from above… basically play keepaway and then come down to hit and run when they have a chance, making it very hard to land a finger on them. Like a good doom will run away with some annoying assist and stay above that range where it eleminates the seismo game. It even make it a risk because 1 bad seismo leads into a full combo.

Also FFFFFFFFFF online with Viper. Seriously, even on good connections box loops don’t work, OTGing after a throws timing is so different, and other really stupid stuff. It is such a grind lol. Luckily ill be going to a tourney tomorrow (mostly just to play casuals all day) so i will finally get to try some squiggle loops and other various mix ups hopefully.

I got use to most of that stuff online but that is only because I play exclusively online. lol need to play elsewhere. I should drive out to my arcade tonight.

Online is really hit or miss in MvC3, about 1 in 10 games is acceptable. I try not to take it seriously, but it’s hard not to get salty when you can’t function properly and the other guy is just doing random stuff.

^^^ At that point ill actually go to character select and press random. Then I get someone like akuma or a character with an instant full screen hyper and destroy them. Bodied the crap out of someone yesterday after picking random so many times. I kept getting felicia shuma and X-23

I just have a netplay+troll team Deadpool/Thor/(Sentinal/Tron). If the connection is good I might pick one of my real teams on a rematch.

MvC3 netplay is a joke. Unfortunately, my local competition is average, not bad, just average, I be trying to level people up.

in terms of viper/dante/amaterasu what assist should I run? ammy already has an amazing lockdown assist so I was thinking weasel shot? it kinda sorta almost works as a beam assist and doesn’t knock down so extends vipers ground combos with ease (also has more hit-stun than task arrows so it’s EXTREMELY easy to do

in fact this does 803 damage real easy and leaves you with 1 bar
