Yeah I have a question. Where the hell you been? I havn’t seen you in any magor tournaments lately. The world needs your Spider-man!

The last tournament I went to was TS5, I probably goto TS6 if I have the time.

Great! My first ever MvC2 team was Guile/IM/Spidey (I had no idea what I was doing) but I got alot of wins with random Spidey cross up’s, I’ve moved on to IM/Sent/Cable, but I would really like to start using Spidey/Doom/Sent for kicks, what are Spideys no.1 problems vs top tier?

In my opinion, the main problem is trying to keep control of the match and even then all your hard work can be undone if you screw up once.:annoy: I’ll post up some more info very soon.

Hey found some old info that I had posted from a previous spiderman thread. I think it will be useful to some. I should have it revised by tomorrow.

Properties of Maximum-Spider
Ok as most of you probably know the Maximum Spider can be comboed into and after (depending on situation). And most of you probably know sometimes the Super will not finish completely. Say perhaps your in the middle of the MS, your on your fourth hit, and then suddenly for no reason at all, spiderman misses the final hit. Spiderman starts falling to the ground, your opponent has recovered, and you start thinking your going to be punished. Right?

WRONG! if you ever find yourself in this situation just remember you can still Web-dash out of the way and Call your assist out. BUT you have to at least hit your opponent’s lead character or assist, if not, then it will not work.

Unblockable Maximum Spider?
Another thing I’ve noticed is that you can MS your opponents assist and catch their point character in the MS even if they’re blocking. But then again sometimes you’ll stop in air or just land right next to them. But I seem to catch alot of magnetos after they call out their psylocke assist .

Now I wouldn’t go MS crazy because objects like rocks and drones will counter the effect and the rules above would not apply. But just play around with it and see what you can find.

Heres a nice little trick
**Jumping off the wall backwards **
When you jump or sj and your close to the wall just Press both forward + both punches. Its a mix of a wed-dash and a wall jump into one.

MS Recovery
I’m pretty sure this is an old trick. Have Spiderman close to the top of the screen and perform an MS and hold up. If you did it correctly should you end up close to the bottom of the screen. This technique comes in handy for baiting your opponent and also if you whiff an MS.

Spiderman Assist Type
I’m going to need a lot of help on this one, still trying to figure out what to put for each assist type. Any suggestions/info?? I’ll be sure to edit any information into here along with your name to say thanks and give credit to. Would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Capture (Webball)
Counter into:???

Expansion (WebSwing)
Counter into:???

Anti-Air (Spidersting)
Counter into: Maximum Spider or Ultimate Web Throw

That unblockable MS thing, i’ve noticed the same thing with magneto’s shockwave and it usually happens when the assist are involved.

The “Unblockable” MS explained somewhat…

  1. things like drones… hit once and pass through.
  2. when spiderman hits something, he passes through whatever.
  3. spiderman crosses you up when you do MS (as he goes back and forth, right?)
  4. magneto doesn’t stay still, so if you hit psylocke first, BAM! goes through magneto.
  5. magneto can hold forward and block it now.
  6. most people don’t know this.

wanna know a deranged gimmick?
spiderman has an unblockable ass… that’s right… if you web dash with an overhead hk and his ass is level with the character’s center point upon impact… i don’t think you can block it. i’ve tried both directions… and nope… tried for about ten or so reps (it’s hard to align it that perfectly). but my buddy couldn’t block it… who knows?

lol unblockable ass but ive noticed this playing the comp havent tried it on humans yet but the computer blocks everything the closer you get to abyss but it hardly ever blocks this one move, granted i did it right. im figuring urien like properties since spidey is half in front half behind.

Hey guys, I need help finalising my team! So far it consists of Spiderman/Doom/???. I dont know who to have as my 3rd team member, although I’ve heard Storm is a good pick? But i don’t know is there anyone better? And what assists should I use for all of them?

doom is already your assist
try spidey/cammy/doom
thats 2 very fast characters, plus you get to set combos up for doom to either combo supers with spidey or just plain ol’ chip damage.
