I remember messing around with spider man and one thing I liked about him was that his ultimate web throw damage buffered well but since he didnt have any big unassisted combos I stopped messing with him but seeing his infinite it made me wonder what kind of damage would the infinite do with ultimate web throw added on the end of it. Has anyone tried it and if so what kind of damage does that combo do???
Toying around in training mode today with juggs dash assist and found a pretty interesting combo.
s.lp->s.mp(call juggs a little after you hit them)/\j.hp->hp web ball
Juggs will swat them and your travelling hp web ball will catch them as they fall. Still trying to iron out follow ups but the very least you can do is maximum spider, I managed to dash up max range lk->whatever or dash up hp spider sting->maximum spider
Combos I’ve rattled off the top of my head:
juggs combo->hp spider sting->ultimate web throw - 127 damage (more damage than dp->maximum spider, but only 6 points more)
juggs combo->hp spider sting + finish - 90 damage
juggs combo->c.lk->c.mk->s.rh->sj magic series - 90 damage
These all work midscreen so I wonder how much more you can get away with in the corner. Another thing you can do instead of catching them with web ball is j.lk->j.mk->lp web ball as you fall, so thats another window into spideys reset mixup.
Spiderman has so much cool shit its unreal.
I had some trouble connecting the Max Spidey after the Webswing. After some trial and error I found out that you shouldn’t cancel Max Spidey right after Webswing. After your WS connects you should wait for Doom’s assist to hit. Just keep paying attention to the combo counter and as soon as you see ‘8 HIT’ input QCF PP.
Everyone probably already understood this, but I’m new to MvC2 and explaining this combo made me proud of myself. :woot:
Edit:
How are you supposed to connect the Webball? I’m guessing you’re supposed to wait to cross up your opponent after hitting them with fierce and then throw a WB… It’s just that it’s not really working for me.
Well its easier to do a 3-4 hit magic series into rocks then web ball, but when you do the web ball you’ll be on the other side of your opponent. :tup:
The combo is good for resets and snap outs also.
