Joe Q isn’t going anywhere near Newsrama because he knows they will rip off his balls and feed them to him while anally raping him with a ancient Japanese sword.
I also have a lot of questions regarding the after effects Peter’s decision will have at the end of OMD. At first I wasn’t sure if this was worse than the Superboy Prime retcon punch, but man, it is pretty freaking close. Thanks for the link to Newsrama, sano. Was a great read.
Again, I hate the outcome of OMD but I’ve really enjoyed the 3 issues I’ve read. Still this is one thing that’s been nagging at me for sometime now. If Dr. Strange couldn’t save May, who has god-like powers in the Marvel universe, how on Earth could Mesphito? I guess Joe Q just wanted to tie Dr. Strange’s hands so he could axe Peter and MJ.
Gotta say, for all our hate, Marvel really has gotten us talking about Spidey. Of course there is a difference between talk and actual sales and since many want Joe Q’s head on a stick, the Amazing Spidey titles could see a drop in sales numbers. When does BND hit?
There’s really no question that can be asked that he can’t legitimately say “wait and see” to.
I mean honestly, all these questions about “where is this going” or “how does this affect this” aren’t gonna get answered no matter how ballsy the interview is because they’re story elements that would be ruined if he answered them.
I have a feeling this’ll all have been an Age of Apocalypse type story from the start.
Gimmick upon gimmick upon gimmick for Spider-Man stories. When will it end? Not while people keep feeding this garbage. I remember when DC used to do this with Superman like all the time.
Is it too much to ask for a standard reality Spider-Man comic to just be good like Ultimate Spider-Man? Apparently so.
Ultimate Spider-Man>>>>>>>>>>>>> Every other Spider-Man comic combined.
CBR tends to do more creator focused stuff and has a lot of info on comic movies, but I don’t like their interface and Rich Johnson is either insightful or just annoying.
Especially with his “swipe file” that doesn’t understand what an “homage” is.
Newsarama posters make me sad to collect comics sometimes and most of their staff comes off as annoying, angry fan boys. Plus they rarely cover indie comics as much as CBR.
But they have a nicer interface, cover more of the littler books from the big 2,Matt Brady is hilarious at times and Word Balloon posts their updates there.
They also have better drama.
Yeah my joke about the 'rama hate was with regards to JQ no longer participating in the 'rama Joe Fridays. Even when he was busy he used to have someone from Marvel fill in, but that isn’t the case. Hopefully he’ll be back in '08 to answer more questions from posters. CBR’s fan reaction to this story is kind of the same as 'rama so being interviewed in one place or another wouldn’t make much difference honestly. Matt Brady has come off as pro status quo change in the past too.
Joe Quesada needs to die. Maybe he can make a deal with the devil to undo all the horrible mistakes he’s done to the Spider-Man character in the past few months.
anyway ill see what will happen with this. After some thought i may give it a chance but at the same time i never truly collected spiderman to be begin with anyway. Other than the civil war arc and OMD and a couple of the BIB that is about it. I still have to read the last issue though just to see. As long as they dont screw up the Black Panther im good.
I don’t like Hudlin’s Black Panther. I don’t mind what they’ve been doing to the character, but I just don’t think it’s a particularly well-written comic. Panther was interesting in the couple of FF issues I read a few months ago when McDuffie took over, but his main title has been a huge letdown since issue 1.
The folks at Newsrama come off to me as hating OMD simply because of the outcome of the story. It is possible to enjoy a story but dislike the outcome. I think they just hate the entire story because of the ending. If I saw Joe Q in the streets, I’d want to kick him in the nuts too, but I still think OMD was a well written story with great artwork. While 'rama did bring up some good points in that thread, they are clearly some hardcore hates that have written off ASM because of OMD’s outcome. I’m gonna see how things turn out and if its bad, then I guess they were right after all.
Good for you, man. Your name looks much better with a capital S. You just gained some more points on my respect ladder. And consider yourself imaginary repped.
Oh snap worst NY newspaper ever, the New York Post talked about One More Day part 4 on Saturday. Guess it didn’t make Captain America is dead / Batwoman is a lesbian type headlines, wasn’t front page worthy… I like the Post’s term “wife-out” though. I love how they quoted Jeffgamer who posts on Newsarama too, 15 minutes(seconds) of fame!
I did NOT see the point of doing all this. They could have just divorced, if Joe Q really wanted them separated. This really makes Peter look like a pussy. Spending all that time getting over Uncle Ben, then getting a deal from the devil to save your aunt for your marriage and picking the ailing aunt.
Who already died, in probably one of the best Spider-Man stories, ever.
And who probably will die, sooner or later.
Dammit, I really want that Spider-Man comic DVD of yours, Sano =P
40+ years would give me enough to read :wonder:
I’ve been defending OMD my last few posts so time to be rough on Joe Q a bit. I find it funny that Joe thinks that all the best Spideys stories are told when he’s single and no good Spidey story can be told with him married. Hey, Joe, you basically said your writing staff at Marvel sucks. Really, if you can’t tell good stories with a married Peter then who’s fault is that? Not MJ’s, that’s for sure.
