Anyone been reading Spider-Man: Red Sonja? From the reviews I’ve peeked at on Spiderfan.org it looks like a good mini series. I probably pick up the trade whenever it hits.

That asshole has been using the marriage for a scapegoat for years, when the real problem of late with Spiderman was TOO MANY FUCKING EVENTS and the lack of a real supporting cast. The latter was being taken care of with by Peter being a high school teacher (which was a clever idea) and even to some extent by being an Avenger, but he had to fuck that up with Peter suddenly forgetting all the shit that happened in Marvel Knights with just Scorpy and Osborn knowing his identity. Maybe there’s a tiny chance something good comes out of this, but I aint holding my breath.
I also find it funny that he’s actually expecting people to accept the idea of Peter possibly chasing a new love interest, after all the shit he went through to break up the marriage and acts like letting a relationship mature is such a fucking sin. Any enjoyment you could get will be ruined by knowing ahead of time that it’s never going to get any deeper than “Whoops, being spiderman gets in the way of me getting pussy, but like Uncle ben said…”
Well, back to only reading Hulk. (Unless that starts to suck soon) Invincible and Atomic Robo have been good replacements as well.

I did enjoy Red Sonja. Honestly it’s your very last chance to read a story all about Pete and MJ’s marriage. Spidey was written really funny and there was plenty of romance. Red Sonja’s “All men must die” attitude gave Spidey even more jokes to rattle off lol! Plus this isn’t so much of a crossover, it’s more like a continuation of previous times Spidey has crossed with Kulan Gath back when Marvel had the license. They met during Marvel Tales where Red Sonja was involved and when NY turned Hyborian style back in X-Men. (That story was still the best of these Conanesque crossovers. “Conan America” FTW! :rock:) The interior artwork for Spidey and Red Sonja was really good, don’t be fooled by the Turner covers ha ha! Red Sonja / MJ was smokin’! :lovin:
Some drawbacks I have to say is that they still haven’t explained why the Hyborian magic doesn’t work on Spider-Man, IE everyone became a Hyborian version of themselves in NY (like what happened in X-Men way back) except for Spidey twice now. Early on the writer mentioned an explanation for this, but it never came. Most of the flashbacks with regards to Spidey and MJ were scenes taken from the movies, though I suppose that was for Red Sonja fans who watched the Raimi movies and didn’t reat Spidey before. They were images of the upside down kiss, the two chilling on a web in the park, hey coulda happened at some point in 616 I guess. 
The important thing, the wedding image from the comics was there. Hmmm, now that I think about it, this was similar to the 2 page spread done by JQ in the last issue of OMD.
Oh yeah I also E-Mailed the writer about tossing Shuma-Gorath in there somehow since the main villain Kulan Gath ressurected him in Conan years ago but no avail. Since there were Hyborian styled versions of baddies I asked for Shuma-Gorathopus, Shuma plus Doctor Octopus but it never happened. Ah well Shuma-Gorath, I tried… :looney:

I honestly think I’ll enjoy Red Sonja. I was flipping through a few of the issues and I noticed how Sonja looked like MJ. Art also looks ill. I’m there.
Was reading about OMD at wiki. Pete and MJ will get back together. MJ basically said that not even Joe Q can keep them apart. I do agree that having Peter be interested in chasing skirts is lame. I mean if Joe Q was against Pete and MJ’s being married, why even entertain the idea of him thinking about romance at all? And if Harry is alive, what about Norman? Is he dead or back in Europe?
Man, sano, you reminded me of Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends. We will probably never see a DVD release of this series. Screw Disney. :sad:

I don’t know why they had to undo Harry’s death. His death was one of the most touching stories eva, imo.
You know, I STILL haven’t read Spectacular Spider-Man #200.
I wish they would reprint the DeMatteis/Buscema run on Spectacular. I had most of it when I was a kid but I don’t have them any more… I need them.

I don’t really follow Spider-man but I just finished reading the one-more day arc. I thought it was a very beautiful story. It really got into the character of Parker and I was happy that they got it right. I’ve always thought that he is a severe narcissist, and although that drives him to do heroic things, its also the reason for his unhappiness. It hurts to hear it, especially for fanboys, but really…Peter Parker brings it on himself.
I thought Quesada did a great job with the art, really using that Google Sketch-up wisely. Straczinsky as well, and he didn’t even miss the opportunity to rag on Ironman!

Newsarama gives One More Day lots of bad reviews lol! Maybe that’s why JQ’s being interviewed at CBR and not 'rama. Anyway, this one’s pretty interesting since it touches upon Spidey and MJ’s past and conflicts with New Avengers and other problems that Marvel may run into with making Spidey single.
