Spider-Man, The Amazing Thread

Spider-Man Fever by Brendan McCarthy is looking really good! It’s a big nod to the second ASM Annual that had Spidey teaming up with Dr. Strange by Lee and Ditko. Preview and interview with McCarthy -

It’s been awhile since The New McCarthyism has done some comics. This looks really, really good. I’m definitely looking forward to it.

It turns out the rumors of Spider-Girl returning to a monthly book are true!

What’s this I hear about Jason Aaron writing Spiderman?! TELL MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

soo are mary jane and spidey still seperated? havent read this in a long time.

Yeah still seperated.

He’s married in the new Clone Saga story which wraps this week (which is how the Clone Saga story was supposed to be written before editiorial stepped in) and in Spider-Girl which is featured in Web of Spider-Man but is about to go monthly again. He’s still married in Stan Lee’s Amazing Spider-Man Comic Strip. Single everywhere else and in Marvel’s current 616 timeline.

There’s minis here and there like Spider-Man and the Secret Wars which take place before the marriage so his marital status doesn’t matter. Oh and he was married in the What If Spider-Man House of M one shot.

i thought he was seperated in the comic strip?

That was a flashback story, they were basically having fun with people. He’s married now. You can catch up on the strip here -

 • Or if your store carries Comic Shop News they’ve been running five strips an issue. Comic Shop News is FREE too.

For some odd reason this story of Spidey soon-to-be-unemployed this week was on my morning news TV show today. Maybe the media is trying to say “Don’t feel bad if you’re out of work in this terrible economy! Even Spider-Man can’t hold a job!” Or something like that. Maybe it’s a slow news day, I dunno… Strange thing to make a headline out of IMHO…

Once Mr. Negative returns Michael Lark MUST draw it again, his style is absolutely perfect for that character. I almost wish I could steal Mr. Negative for Daredevil. Damn you DD, why must you be cursed with such a weak rogues gallery? T_T

Also, I really enjoyed the Morbius story from ASM #622. I never really liked the character until now, but that story was pretty good. It’s too bad it couldn’t have been a full 22 pages. I guess Fred Van Lente is too busy scripting Marvel Zombies 6.

Spider-Girl’s back to being a monthly book in May (May, get it HA HA) and here’s a DeFalco interview. Excuse me while I breakdance!

Young Allies by Sean McKeever of Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane fame. Arana and Firestar on the same team. Day one purchase for me! :lovin:

Very much looking forward to this. I loved McKeever’s Nomad work. Other than the goofy Professor Power character design.

Ooh I might give that series a read!
…and they’re bringing back the original Gravity? Cool, I really liked his mini =D

Spoiler for an upcoming HOH storyline. Scroll down and check the cover image for HOH 1&2.
SPIDER-MAN SMASH! :wonder:
I’m dropping Spider-Man from my pull list after the stuff Joe Quesada said at the ECCC Marvel panel this last weekend. :shake:

For those that haven’t read - http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=25226

It is pretty much the same thing he’s been saying since OMD and even years before that. He doesn’t want Spider-Man married.

But yeah nowadays I get most of my Spider-Man fixes from Spider-Girl, the comic strip, New Avengers and minis like Spider-Man and the Secret Wars. Three times a month, inconsistent writing, inconsistent artwork, still no explanations for a bunch of OMD/BND things and practically no Mary Jane are things that turn me off ASM right now. I’ll still get it here and there if they feature a character I like though.

MJ is going to be showing up more soon, especially after the stuff that just happened with Rhino Peter really needs someone to talk to. And speaking of, man Joe Kelly knows how to pull at the ole heartstrings with what he’s done with Rhino.

Looks like a new Spider-Man video game from Activision is going to be announced on April 3rd during Wonder Con. Dan Slott will be writing and Christopher Daniel Barnes (Spider-Man in the '90s cartoon) will be providing Spider-Man’s voice. It seems like the working title will be “Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions.” Sounds interesting!
