Oh definitely. Technically, it was 10 times in 6 years. Speeding, running a stop sign/speeding, no registration stickers on my plates, and a couple plate lights being out. Oh, and the DWI.

I read in a previous srk speeding ticket thread that if a cop sees that you have a cross hanging from your rearview mirror, they will be more inclined to let you off with a warning. (The Bible says to forgive!)

We have parts here that go all the way down to 50 and 45! slower speeds makes nothing safer it just causes traffic. Maybe if every car had a top speed of 45 then yeah but obviously that’s not the case. The thing is tho, a lot of people here in hawaii think speeding is dangerous… oh my gosh there is nothing dangerous about going 70 on the freeway. We got some nut cases here that think they’re the police and they try to box in a driver that they think are driving too fast or driving in the left lane slow and the worst of em all, the ones that are driving slow in front of you but as soon as you switch lanes they take off! these are the ones making the roads dangerous!
Sorry, but “customary” isn’t something that you can argue in court if you were stopped going more than the posted limit. The law is the law and if you go 1 mph over the “limit” your speeding. Facts are facts…were you ABOVE the limit…Yes? Speeding. End of story.
We aren’t talking court of law. We are talking when you get pulled over. I didn’t say “oh no he did nothing illegal he shouldn’t be eligible for a ticket” I’m saying that unless conditions are are negative - like rain or snow or construction, or the driving is unsafe - such as several lane switches or aggresive driving - its pretty typical to go up to 10 mph over the speed limit without issue. Speed limit on 495 is 55 yet the average speed is actually 72 apparently…but you don’t see folks pulled over even WITH the constant police presence. shrug

Dude don’t even joke about that. i fucking hate tailgaters as much as I hate people who switch lanes without putting the proper signal. Matter of fact I have an unadulterated hate for people who feel like driving in ways that are dangerous to everybody else on the road. I love driving, don’t need idiots ruining a rather nice thing for me.
Yeah when i did my roadtrip from WA to CA, shit i was going 85mph & i still was getting tailgated…They even cut me off while honking to show how slow i was going…
