will the spark work for this seeing its a clear cover and all?
It’ll work just fine. Just make sure you’re able to wire up the harness for the power and ground. Awesome PCB and even more awesome from the guy that produces them.

Toodles: Will your SPARK work with the Mad Katz JLF clone? I’m considering buying one of those Tasunoko VS Capcom sticks and I think it might be a nice fit for my already purchased but very lightly used SPARK.
I’d have to recommend against it. It was made for a JLF, and putting it into anything else just seems like putting spinny rims on a Yugo. You’re free to try it, but Im not gonna feel responsible if its less that perfect.
I would definitely say not to if the actuator piece isn’t black. You must use a black actuator piece.
OK. I’ll post my impressions here when I have received the stick. If it’s not a good fit, I’ll just put a JLF in the TvsC stick and use the SPARK in that instead.
Are there any videos of the Spark in action anywhere?
I know nerrage posted a how-to, but it didn’t have any hands-on portion. I kind of want to see and “hear” the absence of the microswitches.
That’s a rather zen request. "What is the sound of no microswitches clicking?"
I really have no idea how to help you with that.

I was hoping to see a video of someone playing on a stick and only hear the ambience and not hear the click of the microswitches. Suppose you’d still hear the buttons though… Anyway, I digress. Thanks for the reply!

FYI I had a friend translate the kanji and it says “hikaru-sensa-reba” meaning “light-sensor-lever” lol enrgish ftw!
The spark stickers look great! The font might do with some tweeking though. Are spark stickers going to be made to be sold with the spark?
there still is the sound of the actuator hitting and rubbing the gate. The closest sound sort of like that is to roll your knuckles on your desk palm facing up hand in a fist. But a circle gate will make less noise than a square gate when doing 360’s.
Looks like Helvetica or Akzidenz Grotesk is the original font used.

I can confirm that the original font is helvetica, I forget which variation exactly.
