This is shaping up to be not so good. Why dont you address everything when you reply to posts, this doesn’t seem very well organized.
Starting any game at 11 am is crazy and unnecessary, the VAST majority of tournaments don’t start on time and almost none of them are scheduled for before noon, aside from majors. Its very easy to run multiple games at one time, it shouldnt be a problem to start around 1 or 2, or even a bit later get everything done comfortably. Even if you start at 1 pm, you most likely wont have to wait until as late as 7 pm to start the last game. Swapping games will not hurt the turn out for any game… you can play MULTIPLE GAMES at ONE TIME… are you new at running tournaments? Because people can help…
Once i see what the date is for this ill maybe decide.
I’m sure they won’t care, but the SW Ohio tourney has been Sept. 8 for a long time.

That being said, why do I talk down to someone who is puttin “HIMSELF” (not themselves, he is one person)? Because he was doing a poor job, and while others addressed the issue of the time, I just like them, added my opinion in order to make the organizer see exactly how incredibly ignorant he was (and still is).

Pointing out the incompetence of the organizer serves no purpose here other than to make you look like a total dick wad. He is doing something for the community. He had helped run every tournament I ever put together, as well, so he doesnt lack experience. He is getting it done, and all you are doing is acting like a child. Look at all the other responses…
“thanks for doing this!” followed by “helpful suggestion A”. You are the only one acting like this. What is your agenda? Is it not to come to this tournament? Thats your choice. Is it to deter other people from a fun event? If so, why? Are you running a competing event? Do you harbor some personal grudge against the organizer or location? What is wrong with you?
You earned the right to talk down to him for doing a poor job running a tournament that has not happened yet, or you earned the right to talk down to him for doing a poor job running this thread on SRK to your high standards of response times and adequate acknowledgments of who gave out what suggestion and when?

Your first post asked about his math error, and mentioned HD TVs being bad. Both issues he addressed and fixed, very promptly, might I add. The original posting of this thread was at 12:02 on 8-14. Your suggestions were offered at 6 PMish that day. You then waited a full 21 hours, not even a day, to hop back on here and inform everyone that this is shaping up poorly. Right. Less than 48 hours after the initial posting, you have already decided that the organizer is incompetent and that this will be a poor event.
If what has transpired here really bothers you enough to act like this, why don’t you just agree not to come to the event? I mean, you offered advice, it was heeded, and then you started detracting from the man and the event almost right away. Everyone else is patience, friendly, and thankful that someone is willing to put an event on. But you seem to want it run exactly like every other tournament ever, and you also dont want to wake up before noon. I never started a tournament late, and I never scheduled the start after 10:30 AM. Ask anyone who came to my UFGT line. My tournaments ran smooth. Smoother than any one I’ve ever been to or heard about (save Fugi’s line, which I hear wonderful things about).
Just get out of the thread and spend your time/money at a tournament that pleases you. No one will blame you for doing this. But they will if you continue to sling insults for literally no reason.
Josh is doing a good thing by hosting this for everyone interested. Period.

Listen, no more drama. I haven’t done a tournament of this size. Ski, keits is right, when I see posts, instead of making what I feel to be a senseless post, I just changed it. I didn’t “do my homework”, as chris said, but all’s well now, damage done.
