Cr. short xx strong Flash Chop is a very good mix up, but I wanted to avoid listing all the mix ups he can do. Those, you can easily come up on your own. I tried doing something like that in the old thread and I got tired of typing all the different options you have in different situations.
What I wanted to stress were the little things in Alex’s game that you could do to improve your overall play. Having fancy mix ups that deal hella damage won’t win you the game when you can’t get into the position to do them.
The point of doing st. strong xx EX Flash Chop as a possible anti-air is that it requires 3 parries for your opponent to get in on you. Compared to that of cr. fierce or st. strong xx EX Knee Smash. All 3 hits aren’t meant to combo. You’re just throwing in extra hits so that it gives your opponent more chances to mess up subsequent parries.
Consider this. Ken’s fierce DP is a good anti-air not because it combos in the air (although it’s very nice), but because you have to parry successfully 3 times. This means that your opponent has 3 chances to mess up. That’s really good, considering most anti-airs in the game are 1 or 2 hits.
Oh, and there is much Ken hate in this thread. And Chun Li hate, and Yun hate, and Makoto hate… Yup, I hate every character in this game. This game sucks.
what i’ve found annoying is the classic st. jab anti air. the jab can also anti air ken’s crossup which is also very annoying. learning how to parry ken’s crossup means you can pretty much own him when he tries it. although the ken player will be able to change the timing and it all becomes a chess game again like khang posted before. however it could prevent the angle ken needs to be able to combo from his cross up.
i think i’ve said too much…but maybe this will help the ppl who complain about ken’s crossup being too good.

By the way, how do all you Yun players kara cancel his command grab? This is pretty late, but Alex Yooooooooooooooooooon was grabbing me with kara throws all day during that one tournament. :arazz:

Wonder if you can apply this to other command throws…
makoto has one that works from after-backdash range with c.roundhouse (so you have to double tap hk REALLY fast)… it’s helluh impossible to do all of the time. actually… maybe not. once i get this down, my makoto will be helluh-CHEEEEAAAAAAP.
