Stop on by on Friday! With KOFXIII Climax, we’re in there with high quality action!

I’m usually there playing AE but if you can give me a couple characters to start out with I’m inclined to start playing KoF

The USF Don
"We’ll meet again, someday soon"

So figuring out Climax changes, but don’t really see much in it. I hope I get to see more people play!

Anybody want to get some cvs2 practice this afternoon? Post here if you’ll be at STA, going to head over there in a few hours.

Good games to everyone that showed up and participated in the ranbats!

Yeah good shit from yesterday man. I had a great deal of fun!

I still need to learn a great deal about KoFXIII…especially those positive frame things, or specific moves that give +Frames depending on where you block. That shit is nuts, anyone have like a basics on the game? I always feel like i need to expend meter to gtfo sometimes. I watched that video where Kyo is trying to help prep you for KoFXII but other than that i still feel something is lacking when it comes to it.

Well, think I can explain it.

Usually, the game is very fast paced which makes it so you have to have a response quickly. You need to spend a lot of time getting comfortable with your normal moves as those will save the day and be your main stay when you feel your reactions aren’t solid enough. Sometimes, even a dp won’t save you even though you read the jump or move.

So rule #1 is get comfortable with your normal moves before your special moves. Be aware of what’s relatively safe for poking, but also for getting in. Take Terry for example. His st.B is very good for poking, long range, and it causes enough block stun to stop people from jumping before the next one. One could say the move leaves you at** positive frame advantage**.

Positive frame advantage occurs when your recovery is less than an opponent’s blockstun. For Terry’s D crackshoot, it’s +2 on block if they block low because it causes a load of blockstun and allows you to do a move 2 frames before they can start doing a move. It’s a nutty concept, but you get used to it. Most moves are punishable though, but sometimes before you block it.

Like Terry’s D crackshoot gets really blown up by DPs before it gets hit or you can duck under it with certain characters like Mai. You can do d.Bs with Terry as well to go under another Terry’s D crackshoot.

There’s always an answer to a situation, many don’t need to spend meter.

Ggs last Saturday, sorry I had to cut out w/o saying bye; it wasn’t a salty runaway I swear! Cuzns got in a motorcycle accident so I had to go take care of business.

Anyway, hope to see yall next weekend, this time I won’t forget my brain/combos haha.

A friend of mine is visiting sf for a week and he said he’ll be about 10 minutes away from southtown arcade. When do people usually show up for kof13, umvc3 and AE?

@Reiki.Kito Hey thanks yo. I think I just have to get used to specific matchups and lose many a battle learning them.

For UMvC3 and AE, usually Saturdays and people here and there. And KOF13, almost every night. :stuck_out_tongue:
