Southtown Arcade - SF, CA - THE EXILES 2013.06.15, 12PM @ goforaloop Gallery

Hey, Hooda!

You’ll have to contact the vendor who the drives were purchased from. They will need to mail the drives back to their distributor, who will then mail them back to Capcom, and then back in reverse order.

The whole process will take around three weeks.

Hope that helps! Send us some pics of the scene in Seoul!

are there no hyper hops in k-groove?

Yo thanks for the help. I just spoke with the owner of cafe id and he is insisting that there is some way he can upgrade through usb? They do have an original japanese cab so maybe that matters?

There are no hyper hops in CVS2, period.

WHAT the fuck is a hyper hopo_O

I thought you could hyper hop in S-groove. To answer your question, it’s like a super jump for hops. So you’re jumping really fast and far away like a super jump, but you’re also really low to the ground like a hop. You basically move your joystick down or down-back, then tap up-forward for a hyper hop. If you’re not used to doing hops at all, you can quickly hold down after the up forward which will help a lot.

Ggs yesterday to everyone, it was cool seeing haunts, shinobi, and roger. Im gonna start showing up more to play a lot more AE and 3S.

BTW I was the Rufus player.

man my execution has always sucked, but It was never that bad. Gonna have to find someway to get dreamcast/ps2 cvs so I can practice again. GGs guys. Nice meeting the south town crew. It’s a cool arcade, hopefully enough people continue to go so it can stay around for a while.

Im down for cvs2 sessions

OK that makes sense I was triyng to hyper hop and kept getting super jumps. -_-

Oh well better luck next time. At least I am trying to go for the right combos with Kyo… I seriously need to fire up the PS2 before the next ranbat tho.

practice cr. short X2, cr. mp, rekkas. if thats too hard use a jab instead of the second crouching short. Your cr. short, cr. short, Double kick combo is only good if you have super. And even if you have super you should be going for his other super after cr. shorts because it takes more damage.

I didn’t get to see much of your kyo, because he got bodied alot. it’s cool though, because he’s seriously one of the hardest characters to learn.

Some random kyo stuff:
neutral small jump rh is a great poke. Use it sparringly.
Anti air with mk, or cr. Hp
The tip of kyos foot on his standing rh is invincible.
Kyo can be frustrating as hell for sagat if you know the matchup. Make him pay. The second hit of kyos lk fireball motion move is safe on block against sagat. Standing mp is a great tool against sagat because it hits him crouching. You st. mp, rekka him and even if he blocks theres nothing he can do about it.

I’ll watch your matches, and give you some more stuff eventually.

Sure but I don’t have a way to play the game :frowning: I think theres a dreamcast emulator for pc i can use that works decent. but I hear it’s kinda slow. text me though if you ever want to play sf4:AE or ST. Marquez has my number. it’s also posted over on the battle board at final bout.

i went on saturday for the first time, now that i know its around, i’ll make sure to stop by every time i’m in the city (not that often unfortunately)

thanks for the tips aaron and lion x too. I felt i played super shitty this sunday even tho i always play pretty bad. I really need to lab it up at some point before even getting casuals in I think. hah.

Ill try to be there to play cvs2 with anyone

I miss 3s :frowning:

Yo, I was wondering if there’s going to be extra PS3 set ups for KOF XIII at the ranbat on Sunday. Christian and I were wanting to run a big session and I’m also wanting to play a bunch of games with the others so I could teach how to play KOF. I’m willing to bring my own PS3 and KOFXIII and put it in the corner if you guys happen to have an extra TV lying about. If not, that’s cool too.

We def should get in more matches. Just focus on the fundamentals of poking and AAing the right things first (shit that works on everybody). Then work on simple punishes into bigger ones. If you absolutely much learn some matchups specific stuff, focus on Cammy, Blanka, Sagat (CBS lol) since they are very common.

If there are house sessions somehow/somewhere i don’t mind going into training mode all day as the dummy to practice basics.

Random thoughts:
When i was new to Kyo, everything I did was hella boring basic shit, but it worked. A lot of the issue is not knowing basic punishes, getting used to footsies in the game, not AAing all the time etc. I am not sure what the motto is now, but back in the day the motto for me was “Don’t fucking jump” because people were really good at punishing unsmart jumps. Focus on that ground game.

Of course Cookye hella throws ground game out the window…don’t know how the #$@% he does it…

Hooda: Unless they have a network connection to Japan, they will probably need to send the drives back to Taito for updates. Unless Capcom sends a rep out to manually install it.

Laban: Feel free to bring your console and a copy of the game; we’ll figure something out!

For those who aren’t aware: We now have BBCS Extend.

Don’t forget: Ranbats on Sunday (KOFXIII/AE/Ultimate), and our Ver.2012 event on Saturday! Hopefully we’ll see all of you before then, though!

I think it would be cool if they left us with 2 AE cabs to use for the ranbats the next day ( giving us 4 in total ) SUPER SEXY.

Gonna come check this place out Sunday, I’ve heard it’s pretty dope. Looking forward to getting bodied in marvel. Can’t wait for the next CvS2 day so I can embarrass myself - I need to find my ps2.

EDIT - maybe a silly question but is there something I can lock my bike to close by? Gonna be riding.
