Southtown Arcade - SF, CA - THE EXILES 2013.06.15, 12PM @ goforaloop Gallery

Can’t make it, just woke up zZz

Damn. I haven’t seen your ass in years…
I don’t know if there are any good days for CVS2 at Southtown. In my 3 visits I’ve only had a human opponent once, and that was on a Sunday when Starkilled specifically said he was gonna be there…so it doesn’t look like there’s much interest up here anymore. If the CVS2 ranbats actually happen, I guess that would be a better indicator of who still wants to play this game. I’ll be there for sure if they ever announce them, and I’ll make it out more often if people actually wanna play this old man’s game.

Over 1,000 people tuned in to see the stream! KoF was super hype today! 16 people, 31 fights, 7 HOURS! Congratulations to Geo.YUC for placing first! Honorable mentions to Isaiah and Rex for 2nd and 3rd respectfully. Lots of good matches!

Southtown Ranbats were RIDICULOUS today! Good shit to everyone that came out. Shoutouts to the Iplaywinner commentary.

CAN WE GET A WINDJAMMERS TOURNAMENT?

does STA look good for business in the long run? ive been playing on pad and converting back to stick over there is no joke if i want to compete. i might have to get a stick. whats the best stick out there now a days other than madcatz TE? a wooden piano stoving one sounds nice.

Hey John, it’s been too long. When am I going to see you at a session again?

Shout outs to commentary, Pavo for playing Dan in the finals, and stream monsters for the Marn comments.

hey what up serg. yea man, ever since the mvc3/mk9 takeover was a buzzkill, including that i gave my stick away. but i saw the light that doing target combos (IE dudley) has its benefits with a pad (by sliding instead of pressing the buttons with my fingers) but only to realize its useless when youre getting bodied @ STA… JUST PURCHASED a Q2 .

shoutouts to southtown for hosting a great event, though ran a little long [cant do much about that though, minor issue.]
shoutouts to haunts for being very generous with the KOFXIII stream time

ggs all KOF players, I was honestly shocked at the 16 man bracket, I really only expected like 7-8 at max and it would have to be run round robin…

Was glad to see you and Soulstar stop by, Tone! A large amount of the regulars came prepared and ready to play which definitely made it great. New players pushed and challenged some of the people that play every day. It also put a lot of people on full blast in terms of popularity. It’s definitely put Geovanni in the spot light. He’ll be “The man to beat” unless a lot of people improve.

Mexican rushdown for the win!

How many points does each place get each session?

It’s not published yet on the main site, but here’s the breakdown of who got what in the KoF tournament.

  1. Geo.YUC (Kula, Terry, Robert): 10
  2. Isaiah (Shen, Vice, Maxima or Ralf, Shen, Maxima): 7
  3. CharREX (Iori, Clark, Kyo): 5
  4. Renzo (Andy, Raiden, K’ or Andy, Shen, K’): 3
  5. Paul (Andy, Elisabeth, K’): 2
  6. Fatacon (Leona, Duolon, King or Vice, Duolon, King): 2
  7. Hotpockets (Joe, Kim, Terry): 1
  8. D’ (Iori, K’, Athena or Kyo, K’, Athena): 1

Listed teams used.

By that logic:
1st gets 10
2nd gets 7
3rd gets 5
4th gets 3
5th and 6th get 2
7th and 8th get 1

All points are kept track of and built on each ranbat so participation is important to win at the end of the season.

Aw man…I definitely gotta get in top 4 next time. Bweh~

Where are the 3s Tourney!??

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

From the data, you got bogged down against CharREX’s Kyo and Clark. It was Kyo’s Neomax and a lot of command grabs. I’m glad I kept track of everything!

Maybe when 3SOE comes out, the game will get more players.

this is literally the first time I’ve seen these words used to describe norcal

Whatever happen to?

who is the bitch in your avatar? does she work next door to southtown?

Thanks again for everyone who came out and watched the streams! AE took a bit longer than we thought and sign ups for KOF were more than we expected. Look out for announcements regarding the next event. We will be making more changes to the rules and times. This was the second event for us and we will continue making changes to improve the series. Thanks again everyone! Special thanks to IPW and commentators for doing a wonderful job!
