you’d stop fucking laughing the moment you take a math class past pre-calculus level, and take the full sequence of a calculus based physics course.
And what design? Don’t tell me you believe the world was designed for us in mind because a banana fits our hand right? If so can you please explain why the prostate most stimulated with lewd penetration acts on a male, and then this great designer says its wrong.
You assume that its only happening in a localized place. You aren’t considering that the universe is a pretty large place, and there is an infinite amount of places this shake n’ bake process could have occurred.
no i didnt forget that, you dumb fuck i adressed that when i said that as any institution made by men it needs to evolve, but its nice to see that you completly ignored that part, and before you come at me like if i was some sort of idiot, im pretty aware of all the stupid shit that the catholic church has done over its existence, so no, im not an ignorant ape like the idiots that passed this shit on s. korea
btw, im pretty sure that you dont even know that there are many people from religion that also helped to expand our knowledge through science
Like Georges Lemaître, who is the father of the theory of the expansion of the universe and the big bang theory
or Gregor Johann Mendehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregor_Mendel’]l who is the precursor of the genetics
I took calculus 2 years ago, and took statistics this year. Why don’t you stop being demeaning to others and let us debate like gentlemen? By the way, read the edit of the post you quoted.
Just like I could go into the details about how there is a lot of evidence supporting the Bible having ripped off from numerous other religious/spiritual beliefs when making its own canon, as well as the numerous holes/absurdities/contradictions that would make a block of swiss cheese jealous.
But I won’t.
Any fool can see evolution by natural selection/mutation/gene flow/genetic drift occurs, are these the only processes? Who knows, but they certainly happen.
These threads always become bashing grounds. You can’t forget that we’re on the internet. There are too many pretentious people here. It’s easy to present everything you say as fact and use subtle condescending vocabulary to make a point. What is apparently hard to do discuss something in a civilized matter where people patiently await a response. It’s even harder to admit you made a mistake or that you may be outside your knowledge zone. Of course, no one is outside their knowledge zone when they have the internet -.-
In all honesty I think this is pretty civil, albeit heated. Nobody is straight up trolling or anything. I don’t know, maybe I’m just used to heated debates in FGD.
gentlemen? why when you are making big claims based on a logical fallacy.
Shake n’ Baking a bunch of metals which do not interact readily to say,
15 different elements, all of which readily combine with each other.
yeah, I don’t see why I shouldn’t treat you like a child. Come back when you have taken a basic chemistry course at least, and fully understand what was taught.
Edit; make that two logical fallacies. Just because something is designed does not imply a designer. We don’t design bacteria to become resistant, they just do. Does this mean God is designing them so the bacteria can kill us at an increased rate?
I basically agree with all of this. Is it so backwards to possibly assume that maybe a designer created these processes? That isn’t even my personal belief, but I certainly don’t think it’s unreasonable given the uncertainty and seemingly improbability of so many things. Maybe it’s a romantic notion, but some of the things you see in the world appear to be so wonderful that they were created. Some things appear so specific that they appear created. Some things appear so pointless that they seem to be created. On the other hand, it’s clear that somethings adapted to their unique surroundings and did it only to survive.
I’ll stop babbling about romanticized observations though. I’ll surely be chastised for it.
most of you are ignoring that only 20-30% of koreans identify as christian and the doubt in evolution was 39% and didn’t show any correlation with whether or not one was religious or not. koreans problem is that their universities are garbage, 12 scientists that could teach about this in the whole country? shit is bananas.
and you guys talking this it’s a “theory” not a “fact” shit sound fucking retarded. words have multiple definitions, pretending that scientists don’t know and are just guessing so that’s why is evolution is a theory is beyond stupid.
Well what ever this god (if it exists) that created everything is. It sure as hell ain’t the Amazing Sky Fairy written in the various scriptures. We all know for a fact, how fucking insignificant we all are compared to rest of the universe. I don’t think you need to have a religion to believe in god.
^That’s fine, but Creationists tend to discount DIRECT PROOF THAT EVOLUTION BY THESE FORCES HAPPEN, when we can see instances of these process happening/as well as their results(Staph->MRSA anyone???)
Not attacking you Mav, I’m just stating generally. Just because evolution can’t be shown to account for everything yet, doesn’t make the fact that evolution does happen non-existent and creationism science.

edit@Schwaffles: lmao you tripped me up there for a minute as I had to do a quick double check of my notes of humans/great apes/monkeys/etc
I understand this completely. This basically started due to my lack of clarity earlier, which was admittedly unrepresentative of what I was trying to state. Organisms adapt, evolve, and change in ways that are amazingly obvious. I just don’t think it’s directly in correlation with the origin story of man/life.
Straw man arguments are the tool of the uneducated. We’re not talking about you shaking a box and getting a compound machine. We’re talking about mother nature having over a billion years to spawn one anomaly that then begins to give rise to other life forms for the subsequent 3 and a half billion years. Considering how different one body is from another in space, I’d suggest looking up for other reasons from now on.
Not this shit again…
The funniest part is that creationists will talk a bunch of BS about evolution, but they would IMMEDIATELY whore out on the discoveries of modern biology (such as vaccinations), and enjoy all the benefits of this increase in our understanding.
Only in America…
I don’t know what scriptures you are referring to that have “Amazing Sky Fairies”, but you point is pretty valid. Your last sentence was particularly key to my input in this thread. You just articulated it much more specifically (and aptly) than I have. Thank you.
I don’t have a problem with people having religious beliefs or whatnot. I’m just trying to drive home the idiocy of Creationism and why it should not be taught as Science.
tell me about it, there was a a chick that believed in creationism (that i wanted to date until i hear the crap that she believed btw) that said stupid stuff like that the fossils of dinosaurs where put on the earth by the devil to confuse us, lmao
Show me the overwhelming evidence for evolution, then, and why creationism is false. You’ve basically taken my whole argument and ignored it. As mentioned before, the probability of just one of the proteins required for life to be formed by chance is the same probability of drawing a royal flush 19 times in a row. And that’s just one. That would have had to happen over and over again, and the odds get worse as you go on. The probability of evolution occurring just becomes smaller and smaller the more one looks at evidence.
Take the missing link issue with evolution. There’s nowhere near as many fossils of them as they should be. We only have the occasional peking man or that bird with the reptillian teeth(i forget its name), when we should be finding more missing links.
Not to get too graphic, but how come they have to use lube to keep it from being painful, when doing it in a woman’s private parts doesn’t require lube?
