Super Street Fighter IV Tournament II @ The Souper Bowl in Lowell, MA

Thanks again for everyone’s help and for everyone attending the past Souper Bowl tournaments. Like I said, I’m going to try to make this a monthly thing, especially for the summer.

Last time it was 5 for singles and 10 for teams, but we’re raising the stakes this time. $10 for singles and I’m still debating the team prices (10 or 20). Please give me your input on the team cost.

I know a lot of people didn’t appreciate the DJ’s there last time, but the bar owner really supports them I let him know they were too loud and distracting last time. So this time around they shouldn’t be as loud.

Like always, I’d like as many setups as possible! So lemme know if you can help me out and venue fee will be waived for you.

Hope to you see here so we can warm up for The Road to Evo the following weekend in NYC.

Doors open at 11
Registration starts at 1PM
Team Tournament starts at 2PM (hopefully)
Singles Tournament start around 5 (hopefully)

  • $5 entry fee
  • $10 singles fee
  • $20 2v2 fee ($10 a player) (may change)
  • Bring your own controller and/or stick (Then keep an eye on it!)

Changing the prizing a little bit:
DOES ANYONE HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THIS?
1st Prize: 60% of pot
2nd Prize: 30% of pot
3rd Prize: 10% of pot
(Possible consolation prizes for 4th and 5th depending on sponsors)

SSFIV Singles on PS3

  • Matches are 2/3, 3/5 for Winners, Losers and Grand Finals
  • 2/3 rounds
  • Double Elimination

SSFIV 2v2 Teams on PS3

  • Waseda Style
  • Matches are 2/3 for Winners, Losers and Grand Finals
  • 2/3 rounds
  • Double Elimination

Waseda breakdown:
In a match, player 1 from Team A plays player 1 from Team B. Then player 2 from Team A plays player 2 from Team B. If one team wins both games, the match is over. If players from different teams win, then the winners of each of the previous two games play, and the winner of that game wins the match.

Teams have always been first at Souper Bowl (and most other tournaments that I’ve been to).

Are pads allowed at this tourney? And will anyone be brining any? Have a group of people who want to come but we all play on 360 -_-

As long players don’t use Turbo then it’s completely acceptable to use pads or any other controllers. I recommend trying to bring your own just to make things easier. I’ll have one ps3 pad and one ps3 stick that I usually lend out to people who need it (as long as they’re not already being used) but I wouldn’t rely on me :stuck_out_tongue:

I want to note I updated the first thread with times.

I want to start teams at 2PM. I’ll be taking sign ups at noon or one. I’ll be at the restaurant at 11, so come anytime after 11 for casuals and shit!

If you’re going to be late for teams, call at 1-978-257-4608 and I’ll see what we can do!
