This is pretty cool, having a fight night super close to me! (Well, close to me when I come back to Lowell from Umass Amherst). I actually used to work at that Taco Bell/KFC across the street. Those were literally the worst years of my life.

I have a few questions that I didn’t see on the site or in the thread…

Are you just playing SSFIV, or will there be some MvC3?
PS3 or Xbox? (As in, should I even bring my stick…)
And uh, are there any other girls there at all/would I be super unwelcome if I go?

That place looks really clean

For the Danisen League, we’re going to just do SSFIV first and then see what other games could support it! But for casuals there are any games you’d like (MK9, MvC3, etc) There are usually two PS3’s and I try to bring 2 XBOXs. I only have one ps3 stick, so any extra sticks would be appreciated and I’m sorry if it doesn’t get used. Orz

Sometimes there are girls in the restaurant, but they don’t usually play any games because they make the boys nervous.

Do you happen to know Jason Vo? He’s from Lowell, plays SF and goes to Amherst… but either way I’m happy to see new players ;__;

Looks like I’m in the same boat as you are. I’m from UMass Amherst too and I’ve been meaning to attend these fight nights, but I’m busy with school during the weekdays. It’s definitely something for me to do once I move back to Boston in a couple of weeks.

Good games tonight, got my ass beat real nice even in MvC3 lol. Next week i’m gonna try and bring Melty Blood in if I can rip an arcade version of Complete Code, or set up some Arcana Heart 3 to get ready for CEO.

Thanks for everyone who played! It was a pretty good turn out.

Next time we’ll probably run two setups for the dan battles and we’ll get matches out quicker and make the playing field more defined in terms of matchups.

Does anyone have spare PS2 sticks that I could borrow this month, I want to get my warm ups in for Melty Blood for CEO and EVO. I’ll return them anytime or until I get my PS2 sticks from home in Philly.

I can practice some MB with you if you bring a setup with it to super bowl this wednesday. But in terms of sticks I only have one stick, it’ll work on ps2, but it’s my only stick lol

I also have some changes to the Danisen League (Probably going to tweak it for the next couple of weeks anyways)

  • A match is now 1 game instead of best 2/3.
  • You get off the station when you lose or rank up.

Any other suggestions are welcome!

I’ve updated New England Danisen League with results from last night’s GU sessions. Thanks to luckyD for being on top of the battle record! I like reading these random names in the results and seeing that they beat people. I wanna see more new names!
