I went to Seasons’ Beatings, too. Laugh was actually in our hotel room along with a few other top players on Friday night, and he was absolutely DESTROYING FlashMetroid’s Zangief with Rose. The match looked like it was at least 8-2 when I was watching. Though it did look like he didn’t really know the intricacies of Rose as a character rather than just being an amazing footsies player. He also woke up Ultra’d during his match with Mago, which basically proves that he’s not super familiar with the character. Oh, if only U1 was fast enough to do on wakeup. He did do some crazy combo into Super without a soul spiral that I’ve never seen anyone use before, though.

I did horrible in the actual tournament, despite basically blowing up most people I played in casuals. :frowning: 1-2. Lost to Perfect Legend’s Akuma pretty convincingly for my first loss and to a random scrub Honda because my ultra 1 failed 3 times. I baited him into jumping over a soul spark three times despite his friend taping the match from behind us yelling ā€œWATCH OUT FOR ULTRA WATCH OUT FOR ULTRA WATCH OUT FOR ULTRA WATCH OUT FOR ULTRAā€ once I started turtling. First time I got hit out of the damn ultra by j.mp or something, and the other 2 times he landed on the fireball instead of the ultra. I fucking wish that U1 combod off of a soul spark on an airborne opponent. :frowning: Though I do need more Honda matchup knowledge.

I did have a super close set with Poongko’s Seth in casuals, though. 1-2. Not nearly as hard as I expected it to be.

I also only saw one other Rose besides Laugh and myself. I didn’t get to talk to him, though. :frowning:

I also fucking hate PS3 and it’s hard to do ANYTHING on it, let-alone 1 frame links and ultras/soul throws on reaction.

I did not realize there was a hitbox data on eventhub. Rose neutral jump HP looks disgustingly misleading.

yeah I saw that a long time ago and discovered that she has a lot of air attacks with some ok hitboxes but most of them are never used with her :stuck_out_tongue:

So her cr.lk is pretty retarded. Wish it was 3 frames lol.

Hitbox on her lk overheads are pretty good too.

cr. short needs to be jab cancellable so we can chain option select with it.

I’m gonna start using nj.lp when someone tries to jump at and I know cr.hp usually trades with their move(vega / bison etc)

oh and yeah I tested it: Rose’s nj.lp beats Bison’s devil reverse and head press >_>…I think even the EX ones lol

Calcagno means ā€œheelā€ in Italian. That normal shares some similarity to Soul Piede which must be why both are named in Italian specifically. In the Alpha series, the close standing hard kick basically looked exactly like Soul Piede except without moving you forward at all.

Ohhh, okay. I Googled the Japanese version and got an actor whose last name is Calcagno, Googled it in English and didn’t see anything about it meaning something in Italian, even though I figured it did. Heh.

I knew piede meant foot, though.

On another note, I think my new punish BnB will be, cr.HP/st.HK fireball fadc cr.HP drill. Does 330 damage, and I think the damage output for landing that combo is worth the meter. If the opponent is in the corner, replace the drill with reflect and soul throw and it’ll do 391.

They need to fix Rose’s Hit box on that Jn.HP

Idk who to use in this game anymore. So many of my characters that i use got changed. There is no use for me to play anymore right now.
