**c.lp, c.lk, c.mp xx lk drill **should work on anyone as long as you are close enough. Balrog, Blanka and Guile are always a bit different, so maybe not there. I’ll test that.

c.lp, c.lp, c.lk, c.mp xx EX drill works on anyone AFAIK

Your version of c.lk, c.lp, c.lk, lk drill looks good but I’m doubtful. In that case (you start with a low) I just try c.lk, c.lp xx lk drill, although its unsafe.

c.LK can’t cancel into spiral… And yeah there is some character specific stuff like that.

I think on a standing or maybe crouching Vega, you can’t do close MK, c.LP xx drill, though this combo works on nearly everybody else.

And on a crouching Honda, you can do close MK, c.LPx2, c.LK, c.MP xx LK Spiral. But I don’t think this combo works on anybody else.

Some characters are just designed to be harder targets I guess.

Bumpity. Sup Rose players. What combos do you usually perform after a j.mk crossup? I usually do c.lp, c.lk, c.mp xx EX Spiral as it’s easy to hit confirm. I don’t like burning the EX bar tho simply to hit confirm. Any better crossup combos? Maybe I should try just c.lk, c.mp xx spiral.

sc.mp, c.mp xx lk drill is an easy confirm without EX. But it is also a lot unsafer on block, and doesnt hit low.

I’ve been having urges to play Rose a bit more again lately. But I still love Sakura and Makoto more and I’m not really playing SSF4 much at all these days. I played today but it was the 6th time I’ve played this year. Sooo rusty!

I started to pick up Rose recently, I main Sakura and I thought it was about time I learned another character so Rose made the cut :stuck_out_tongue:

I usually go for the one that you mentioned, but the second best in my opinion is c.hp x spiral/spark. Hit confirm into spiral, and if they block just follow the cancel into spark. The only difference between them is the last button input, so it’s very easy to execute this and to confirm into spiral.

it’s not hard to confirm a c. mp spiral or a cr. hp spiral after a j.mk.
st. mp cr. mp does max damage tho for least meter.

And you don’t need to do ex spiral after the j.mk into 3 hit bnb to spiral.

Pappioll, was gonna say the same thing. Usually if you can in that split second confirm the j. mk crossup, st or cr HP>EX spark works wonders. I try not to use lp. spark in this situation because the EX spark pushes you back significantly, and I like to slide in or poke around until theyre tempted to jump in or back off.

Most of the time I try the bnb (cr. lp, cr. lk, cr. mp>spiral) after the crossup online im beaten with shoryukens and the like.

So I finally got Rose alt 2. It’s the best alt in my opinion, love that dress! And as a bonus I get Cammy’s Bison alt and Viper body suit (pretty good but the lab one is still the best for her). And Chun’s carny costume or whatever it’s supposed to be but it’s hard to get excited about that. :stuck_out_tongue:

After a j.mk cross up I usually go for the bnb but I use EX if I got it a lot of the time since it gives me more freedom on the cancel, and it is especially helpful against small characters and characters with weird hitboxes with that bnb (Dee Jay comes to mind). Sometimes if I think they are mashing DP I’ll drop the combo and just hold down back for a free cr.fierce xx soul spiral punish (into super if I’ve got it). If they’ve got the meter they may burn it to keep them safe, but either way you gain something from it.

I did all of Rose’s trials on the 3DS using the pro controls the other night. Don’t ask me why, I must hate myself.

Rose needs a damn overhead.

and i use to think rose needed an overhead but her style doesnt really call for it. she has so many throw shenanigans you can pull. i dont do it often but i love after a knock down to back dash and dash in quickly for a throw…it usually works at least once. which is the only amount of times ill dare to try it. but as you pointed out Majin its giving me a bad habit of dashing too much. however i feel her throw damage and range makes up for not having an overhead and when rose pins the majority of the cast in a corner she can be pretty scary. i really like her playstyle as is especially after taking the past few months off of playing sf at all and coming back to it.

The thing about backdash shennanigans, I’m finding that it doesn’t work on better players. There’s just no concrete advantage, unlike a safe jump. It’s not even a mixup, it’s hoping your opponent is blocking and not doing a reversal.

I still do it because, hey, if people are going to fall for it why not right? I once hit someone with it 3 times in a row - major troll points. But against better players who can react to you dashing in, it’s just shennanigans, it doesn’t give you any more advantage than standing there and whiffing jabs.
