I’m surprised there’s no SCV forum on SRK, I just wanted to know if there was a Hilde player I should follow. I don’t really have the game yet and I’m kinda interested. Don’t really wanna get a 360 and a stick just for fighting games anymore, so how is it on PSN? the Capcom games are garbage on PSN :\
C’mon SRK lets give SCV some love. I just got the game and I am pleased.
How large is SCV’s U.S. community, and how is the netcode?
SCV’s community is smaller than the Capcom games (obviously) but it’s very strong. 8WR has a regional sub forum so you can see what’s going on near your area. Also, from my experience, the netcode is godlike. Anyway, I’m going to EVO for SCV and if anyone wants some matches I’m up for it.

But I’m not very good at the game. I really only mess with the character creation. I was trying to learn Alpha Patroklos but I’m not home enough to dedicate that much time. Maybe if they made a portable version maybe, idk. Anyway, I really only put the game in my PS3 if I want to make custom characters, and when I go online, it’s usually to show people the ones I’ve made.

I’m a long-time Soul Calibur player, been following the scene since SC2 and played in tourneys for 4 and 5. And I’m now definitely dropping it for good, after really trying to take 5 seriously. Even a glance at 8WR will show a bunch of complaints about the game, but it was really rushed and disappointing.
For example, the story mode, which was reportedly only 30% completed or something. Instead of having individual stories for each character, there’s only one story mode with a handful of the cast. They removed the character AND movesets for several characters such as Talim, Zasalamel, Yun Seong, Seong Mina etc for no reason. Some character movesets like Setsuka and Cassandra/Sophitia became palette swaps, and no additional ‘bonus’ generic movesets are included. Sophitia and Kilik are in the game, but as 2 of 3 random-select style characters. 3 random select characters? WTF?!
I’ll be waiting for 6, but I’ve moved onto 2D fighters.

Yeah, the game is incomplete. The scene where I live still exists but if you check 8WR for the next meetup people are literally saying “Does anyone still play Calibur?”
they shoudl bring back all of the oringinal characters in the game got some but not all
i still play this game and go out to tournaments. im the guy that went to winter brawl in a hot dog suit. if you see a hot dog guy, ask him to play some games.
