8WR didn’t have so many non-competitive people on the site until SCV where the site was made to be more attractive to new players, similar to when SRK went through its first overhaul.
It shouldn’t be a surprise that so many people enjoy the single player. It’s been that way since the beginning. The series has always been praised for having deep single player modes to go with the multiplayer.
I’m sure people will play Lost Swords because it’s free, but what people really want is single player and multiplayer in one package, not one over the other, or to play separate games to get each experience. That’s why I wish Namco would have packaged Lost Swords into an update for SCV, because eventually people get tired of single player and want to try other modes, and the competitive side also enjoy the content that single player brings to the table.
I want this to actually grow into a PSO style mmo where its light on stats but heavy on skill based, the new consoles and next gen PC should be able to handle a fighting game open world by now.
thats all I want, an open world action game built from a fighting game. all they need is a spare button to lock onto an enemy turning it into classic soul calibur. there’s plenty of fighting games I want something to expand fighting games, asking for the same shite again and again is just encouraging them to be lazy
As with most points of discussion, everyone is certain to have their own opinion on what games should be included in Evo’s lineup next year. Co-founder Joey “Mr. Wizard” Cuellar recently took to Twitter to ask everyone just that: what six games (or less) would make up your perfect Evo 2014? Feel free to send him a reply through the tweet below and let us know what you think in the comments.
Tweet me your perfect lineup for Evo 2014! ( 6 games or less) #Evo2014

Thanks Malice for proper insight. Lost Swords as a F2P component of SC5 update would have been amazing. I personally always played SC with friends, not for the single player modes. I’ll be getting SC2HD instead.
Let’s hope that new SC trademark turns out to be something good and not a mobile game
Alpha and Omega Patroklos/Pyrrah were the two stupidest things about Soul Calibur V. It was like they turned the series into a giant fanfiction. Hey lets get rid of several of the iconic characters, replace them with pallet swaps, remove 20+ moves from each character and wet everyones whistle by having 3 random select slots… with skins of several removed iconic characters.
