Wow. I just googled Arthur. I had no idea Namco had to go to such lengths to censor Mitsurugi.
I typically just create a character and change looks every once in awhile.
For the most part I use Taki’s play style but I like to try each when I get bored.
As for a guest character I guess Bayonetta seeing how Assassins creed is already in.
It’s 3D, has create a character already a shit load more content than TKxSF
Soul Calibur doesn’t look as good as Dead or Alive graphics or interactive stages but pretty much the rest is shit anyways so it’s all good
I’d say a 6/10 interest with Borderlands 2 being 9/10.

Go to Best Buy and spring for the Special/Collectors/More Expensive Edition. You’ll get Dampierre and all the extra stuff. i’m always on top of this stuff ._.
Real Talk, as soon as I heard this existed, I ran out to preorder. I payed for my hubris when I found out I could get the full (read: all the DLC and bonus doodads) at Best Buy, so I changed my preorder to get it there when they announced Mr Sir Lord Geo Dampierre Esq. as the BB exclusive. frickin’ Gamestop tryna’ sell me a slutty bobblehead…

and lol @ those character trailers from dev angles to make the action look dramatic. All it does it make it difficult to get a real look at whats going on. I want to get hype but I’m not going to be left out in the darkness until the day before release and then be expected to hop on the hype train.
Cant think of any fighter in recent history that has been so under-promoted. Theyre doing a horrible job of getting anyone whos not already a Calibur player hype, and I am a Calibur player.

Yes, trying to make the gameplay look more exciting in the trailers, how horrible and dumb. Trailers are not at all intended to hook and make people interested so that they’ll look up more info and gameplay themselves.
Under promoted? This has had more and better promotion than many recent fighting games. They’re even traveling around a lot, letting people try out various builds at various events. They also host shows and other stuff like that.
I’m confused as to what you deem not under-promoted? Superbowl ads and door to door visits?
Because the game comes out next month. I dont know how old you are, but I remember back in the day companies didnt do this kind of thing. “character reveals” and all that stuff happened in a magazine, and then the next time you saw them the game was out. The “2 characters a month” type deal is just worrisome for someone who wants the focus to be on the game, and not publicity gimmicks.
On top of that developer angles in a fighting game are like I said misleading, you would get more people interested if they could see what was happening, then again the opponents are standing completely still while the characters attack them in the trailer. This is ALWAYS a bad idea. Tekken knows how to do it properly:

THATS a character reveal trailer. Not something tilted at a 45 degree angle while you do a special move. Its just ridiculous that I’m not making sense to you about that. I dont know if Xiba is a completely Kilik clone, if he has hints of Mina and Kilik or anything from that trailer. You see him do something…and thats about it.
The first playable build in the United States wasnt until about a month ago. Oh I could go on and on.
Meanwhile again, SRK doesnt seem to care. I dont know how many more times Soul Calibur can afford to die a miserable death in the tournament scene. Unless you think this game will flourish completely through 8wayrun.com?

First off it sounds like you cling to “how things are supposed to be” because that is what you experienced when you were a bit younger and secondly you’re just being impatient.

Most people complain about things like Clean Hits, you on the other hand complain about more dynamic camera angles in trailers… I mean, really?

That was my whole point. SC has been on the decline for a while its not hard to notice every little thing they could have done better when a 3rd flop will most definitely be the nail in the coffin for this series. Everything should be perfect this time around, but its far from it. But who care the fangirls are still stroking their micropenises like SC3 and 4 never happened.

I’ve played it. In Australia. It was pretty awesome then and the only difference now is more characters, well and the clean hits, but that is the only real downside I see so far.

I can wait one more month to see if the game is a failure like 3 and 4.
