the character creation looks like so much fun. I play online and I can tell already i’ll be spending hours editing costumes
the custom styles from sc3 were just slightly alterered normal characters with less moves. I would like it for offline.
But i literally beat 90% of the computers in the game by using kunai and using the flame attack. (it was like a projectile burst of flame that was unblock-able and did a damn decent amount of damage.
Grieve Edge sucked. So this game won’t have like SCIII? That’s a shame I liked most of them. The creation looks to be a lot better than it was in III. I had always wanted characters of different heights and weights in III, but it wasn’t there. I’m glad they got it better and right this time Tekken still gets it wrong in particular I’m referring to the accessibility of the custom items in Tekken which takes forever to get them all.
How it wouldn’t? If you give a character the best tools in the game, how strong you’ll think that character will be? And if they allowed people to customize moves, they might as well call Soul Calibur, " Mugen Fighter", while they’re at it.
but if you’re just gonna have the same styles as the cast then what’s the point of making your own character when you can ALSO reskin the cast with the same outfits an parts minus the changing of hight and limb size?
The only thing that i saw in that video that disappointed me is that you pick faces like you did in 4, where the Face and facial hair was picked at the same time, i liked it more in 3 where it was a separate choice(but i could be wrong about 3, haven’t play that in a while)
Sorry to be the hater but what good is it to have a “revamped” custom character mode when you’re using the same pieces from Soul Calibur 4? The same shitty generic pieces of armor and clothing. It looks like a dress-up game in some european village from 1692. They obviously dont want to give pieces that would overshadow the real cast, but thats the price you pay if you want to have a solid character creation mode.
I saw at least 30 of the same pieces of armor and gear. I didnt see one new male hairstyle I’m just confused. How about the Tekken 6 hair option for layer multiple pieces of hair to create your own. What if “medium” hair is too short and “long” hair is too long?
I like the parts about custom body types, but at this point I should just make a naked man because most of the clothing choices are atrocious. I dont want a toga, i dont want an afro, i dont want horns and I dont want the traditional samurai bell-bottom pants. Gimme a break.
People are already worried about the fact that the different heights have different stat changes tacked on to them, custom styles would just make it worse (unless you can ban them online).
as long as the height changing is within a set range, its cool. I think we all saw the difficult way how troublesome a dwarf like character can be with yoda from sc4.
that was nightmare-ish.
I might be like in 4 where you can choose to have a regular fight, or have a special fight where you get to use all the bonus stats and stuff from you clothing/weapon.
I’m almost 99.9 percent sure that the “shortest” you can make a character is as short as the shortest REAL character in the game. Likewise for the “tallest”…so that should be the least of your worries.
My worry is that theyre going to offer you the same shitty “robes” and “dresses” and dont nobody wanna make a custom character that looks like a fucking nun in the royal court.
The heights aren’t the problem, it’s the fact that they affect the stats. Since even speed is affected, there’s worries that the heights affect frame data.
At the end of the day custom characters will be banned in tournament play so i dont see what the fuss is about.
And where is this information that says size will affect frame data anyway? I’m pretty sure it slightly affected frame data in SC4 as well and srk is really dramatic at times.
Height affecting speed is a joke when Talim was one of the slowest characters in SC4.
Obviously. There’s still a large amount of old shit, and the new shit wasnt too impressive. Like I said before Namco is going to make the CREATE A SOUL items cheap imitations as to not make the created characters look as polished as the real cast…and thats fucking lame.
I always wondered why they didn’t give you the ability to use the items of the early character models. The artwork for early for a was awesome.
