They aren’t really Tekken-style throws where you react to the arm/animation and do the correct break, what Malevolencia meant afaik is that you can react to the throw animation and input a guess break, which is how the last few SCs were.

I would not even think that was Ivy if I saw that without knowing what it referenced.
IMO, that’s still a big enough window to justify the damage on breaks. Now if the window were so small that you actually had to input the break at the same time your opponent input the throw, then I’d say the damage on break is too much.
I am now hype as shit for this game. Is there any general stuff I should read to further understand the differences between 2d and 3d fighters? I’ve dabbled in tekken 6, but that’s about it.
2D and Tekken use Back to Block.
Soul Calibur has a Block Button. That is the major difference. Everything else is just frames. Not Just Frames. Just. Frames.

According to Malek, Ivy is now SC1 Ivy, she has changed but still quite strong.
As someone who plays Cassandra on a semi-decent basis, I’m happy with the notes on Pyrrah.
Poor Mits. Has less than Soul 1 Mits he said. More reason to like Zwei though

Any comments on ivy only having one stance now? I saw some who were fine with it because its like she was in SC1, but some others were bitching because she wont be a “technical character” anymore.

Ivy, at least based on Malek’s comments on her being the best character in the build they played due to “incredible damage, safeness and 2 or 3 broken moves” (which, if you think about it, sounds somewhat like 3S Chun).

Ivy now has an “Asura Dance” like move - which is indeed pretty derpy stuff.
But people at 8wayrun prefer complain about Amy than anything, so whatever in the end.
