It was added in SCIV.
I think of all the fresh faces shown, Patroklos and Natsu are my favorites so far. Pat is like how the Alexandra sister should have been all along, not that silly ‘I’m going to pummel you with my ass until you submit’ nonsense. He also seems mad confident, which is a total 180 from his sister, who is probably the only new character I’m not interested in.
At first I thought Natsu was going to look like a watered down Taki and make even higher pitched shrieking noises than her predecessor, but I’m glad I was wrong. I’m liking her attitude and how flashy their making the PO stance look. Definately going to give her a try when the game comes out, and here;s hoping her 2P looks more kunoichi-like.
I can’t wait to see how Raph, Talim, Yun, and NM look when they are revealed.
Something about Natsu reminds me of a stereotypical Japanese anime; bright eyed, bushy tailed, cute kunoichi… with the crazy hair. Such a weak stereotype. In that respect its turning into a DOA-ish game with too much emphasis on the cute female faces. I do like her playstyle, but the look is too much to stomach, hopefully they do something real with her hair in a P2.
Also not a fan of greenstaroth. But I can at least deal with that.
Viola is definitely some form of Amy 17 years later.
I’ll hold off on reservations about gameplay until I see some real players playing and not some game publication mashing A and B in unison for 5 rounds.
So as it stands visually the game looks gorgeous, but I feel like from where we started with Soul Blade the roster is losing its identity. Zwei looks pretty lame to me, and I’m not really feeling all the qwirky “weapons” they are coming up with I was fine with Ivy being as supernatural as it got. Now we got girls with floating gems and playable stands.
patiently waits
I remember in the beginning they said something about Third Strike, like it being their favorite game or something.
Expect some weirdos?
I like ur choices bc they’re my faves too! I’m waiting for Talim’s too! They mentioned the game being more fluid or something, and so far, when I look at the gameplay I can’t help but think, it looks like SCIV with new blood.
@Mr. X: Source pls? =) I really think they should make the gameplay more, “active”, more of like Tekken > which will be Soul Calibur on steroids minus the annoying ground bounce xP I really think this is just SCIV @_@
Brass Knuckle-users anyone? =)
The Soul Meter should be moved somewhere else imo. It seems too far away from the rest HUD if you were to take a quick glance and check how many bars and how full it is.
If they don’t want to use the usual place at the bottom corners of the screen, then it should be a horizontal bar below the main life bar, like how the super meter was in earlier Marvel games as well as the Weapon Gauge in Soul Edge.
I really digging on Viola’s design. Still have a problem with how most of the other characters look but she actually looks…good. Definitely the best design I’ve seen so far in the game, but I’m not so sure about how she’ll play. Wonder why there aren’t any actual gameplay vids of her yet. If it turns out that she IS Amy, then kudos to them for putting a female that looks like she put on a few years.
Zwei’s looking pretty cool so far, and I like how he uses his summon as a part of his moveset, and not just on his Critical Edge. Him and Viola will probably be the first chars I try out. I actually feel a tad more optimistic about the game now.
In this case it is. Imo SC4 has the worst soundtrack in the series, nothing really stands out like in the previous games.
Looks way faster than SCIV, which IMO is a step in the right direction.
the weight I can understand and after rinsing myself of sc3 memories I appreciated the speed eing something more realistic, but all thats short lived when you realize that theres nothing else in the gameplay that has anything to do with gravitational pull.
I guess things like this inspire projects like Demon Souls
<Novril>: the producer of SC5
<Novril>: used to be a loudmouth player who always kept dissing the balance of SC games in japanese BBS and how he could do a better job at it
<Novril>: he was so vocal
<Novril>: that the SC team actually knew who he was
The producer has stated on his twitter that he is a big fan of third strike. I am not gonna search for that tweet, but many have read it.
I seen Daishi made a tweet about maybe putting older SC titles out for download.
SC2 on my 360! I’d be so happy if this actually happens.
What’s wrong with SC2 on the PS2 or Xbox?
The part where my PS2 looks like poop on my TV.
Then get the Xbox version which runs at 720P and play it on a X360. You’ll be fine.
And you get Spawn too!
I guess so, so far only character I personally feel moves fast is Natsu. But they still have alot of time to polish it up, I guess I was expecting the gameplay to be somewhat Tekken-ish where moves flow into each other
Well since you pretty much confirmed his statement I’m assuming many HAVE read it, so no sources needed =)
