The series has definitely never looked better than Soul Edge.
He hasn’t talked about the system in 5 since it’s all WIP, and he’s just saying ‘wait and see before you judge,’ but he was very critical of 3 and 4 and his attitude took a 180 towards 5.

Yea thats the feeling Im getting, oh well I don’t mind so long as him and asta aren’t both in the game. I never saw the point of both of them being in the same game since they are so similar.
I’m familar with 8wayrun, trust me. I was a mod there in the SC3/SC4 days. Crowwinters. 
WCMaxi’s lack of involvement in the series after 2 is part of the reason I stopped going. I’ll be lurking again just to keep tabs on his thoughts. Almost no one remembers how well Namco treated us in SC2 arcade/console days.

Just hoping that, since they apparently want to bring it closer to 2, that Py get some of the stuff that Cass has in 2 that was taken out in 3 and 4.

I really hope SC5 plays great. I want to love a SC game again. SC3 made me sad and SC4 looked worse than 3 so I avoided it.

Sadly, I’m not directly involved in SCV (although I am somewhat), but I will say the guys overseeing the balancing and new mechanics know their shit and are putting their lives on the line for it. My main work is too removed from the minor grinds; however, I’ve played enough SCV and will continue to be hammering on it. I strongly feel it deserves to stand with SC2 and is going to dramatically shake up the stale 3D genre. I hope a lot of people will give it a serious look.
They took out Ivy’s coiled stance. Good riddance, I hated that stance.

Agreed. That stance made things a heck of alot confusing. Most casual players wouldn’t touch her well not touch her gameplay wise :).
I could handle it but I have to pay attention alot since she had so many moves per stance to memorize.
That’s great to hear; the gameplay has definitely been shaping up nicely. I hope this is the game to bring everybody back and put 3D games back on the map.
