What the fuck did SC do to deserve being associated with SF4’s filth. Low blow.
Err… he’s talking about how people not wanting characters to change/be replaced is the reason why we got the roster that SFIV had. I think SF3 just went too far into bringing in new characters… Tekken 3 and SCV look to have a better balance.
Like Alpha series (except 3, fuck 3).
I loved 3S and I love when games decide to take worthwhile risk to step forward instead of step in place. I love the Soul Cal cast but after so many games with the same characters, I want to fall in love with new characters. I love Misturugi and Cervy and Seung but I’m not going to lie about frowning seeing Mitsurgi returning.
Why do I post on FGD. Bye! (until the next batch of SCV news)
Man they had an opportunity to try some unique designs with older female characters. Looks like they’re just going to replace them with younger versions and stop Ivy from aging. The male characters will just get the Siegfried/Mitsurugi treatment though.
I wanted to see interesting character designs…
i don’t like her face and her hair
C’mon, do you guys really want to see saggy polygon boobs?
Not to mention that Siegfried was only 5’6" (unless he’s grown over this time skip).
Man, you know the japanese suck at weight/measurements. Look at SF: Ken and Ryu, even before sf4, were mountains of pure lean muscle, stood at 5’ 9" and only weighed 130lbs? They’d look like Dhalsim at that weight. SHIT, them niggas were EASILY around 220-250lbs. Seigy’s height was actually more likely to be around 6’-6’ 2".
The answer to that question is answered lol. We all know the answer to this.
I was just about to mention that. SF3 was one of the worst SF to the casuals. To the hardcore base it was a beastly like game but even 3rd Strike. The casuals did not like the game in general and this was one of the factors.
As to what resulted in SFIV’s cast.
I was afraid of that.
I just hope these new characters have their own unique movesets and aren’t just younger, ‘updated’ versions of classic characters (unless they’re relatives e.g Sophitia’s daughter, which justifies carbon copies). I’d rather just have the real thing, thanks.
They’ll most likely have some similar moves and play more or less the same overall, but they’ll probably have their own unique moves.
I’ll admit, I didn’t warm up to SFIII until some neighbors, who were 3S players dragged me into it. And even then, my first choice was Chun simply because she was a familiar face (only found out she was god tier later on, honest).

Hopefully it’s more like Baek to Hworang than… Ken to Sean or something.
Even though there’s no difference conceptually?
Conceptually? SF3 Sean was designed to be a character who hasn’t really started his training. Hwo’s training is more or less complete.
You’re talking narrative details. Conceptually, they are students trained by former roster stables who, gameplay-wise, adopts and branches off the past character’s gameplay style/theme/concept. In this way characters like Sean, Hworang, Sakura (to an extent), Amy, and this new ninja chick are basically the same concept.
So if you’re afraid of how her moveset will relate to her being trained by Taki, I get that. I just thought the difference you stated between her and Sean was strange, but now I more or less get what you really had an issue with.
No I’m talking concept. Everything that makes SF3 Sean SF3 Sean revolves around him being a novice. But if you understand my concerns then there’s no need to hash out semantics.
Yeah there’s no need. We don’t need to measure e-cocks over something ultimately meaningless.
And there, we just broke the internet.
