Eh anyone one have a Legit Tier list?
I would love to know whos the best character between: Tira,Hilde and viola.
They all seem at least mid tier, with Hilde and Viola having more potential than Tira, or it could just be me. Not a big fan of her randomly changing stances.
tira has the most inconsistent damage and combos involving stance changes that aren’t the most reliable, however when gloomy and if you learn to take advantage of staying there to the best of your ability, you’re almost golden. however like most characters like her, she doesn’t have the best lows ever, when shes not rushing down she’s at a disadvantage but she has fairly gimmicky auto gi’s. (in 4 i played her as a rushdown/ countering style, i still occasionally do. i’ll use an attack that looks super punishable like 3a then go for an auto-gi throw in gloomy if it’s blocked in 4 i also used B+K more often as if you get attack twice it threw them back and turned you gloomy. now getting hit twice builds some meter and goes for a grim reaper throw on the enemy IF they notice your pose, which isn’t very hard to notice, you will get throw out of it)
hilde would be higher mainly because of tiras issues, if im not mistaken her ring out game is still better then tiras and her damage doesn’t rely on stances, she has a fairly limited number of attacks compared to the rest of the cast, but they seem effective.
viola i don’t think anyone knows enough about but i’d say viola and zwei are at least high-mid/high if their tools are used properly. violas attack speed seems fairly up there but the damage is certainly coming from the combos and set ups rather then a few hits like zwei, who can most often catch you by altering the times on his combos (for instance using something that’s normally punishable but charging the wolf to attack while you use another attack.)
if you had to pick between the 3 they are all fun but tira has the most disadvantages of the bunch (the damage from gloomy may not seem like much but that extra damage it does to you can really make a difference limiting your attacks and combos in tight situations)
SA houses some of the best SC players in the nation, namely Agustin. Do you even play them?
I would say at this point, Viola might be just a mid tier. Her orbs usually either attacks high, which is crouchable, or attacks vertically, which is steppable. Watching the Link vs SawnikFawks or however you spell this name, once Link learned the Viola match up and started ducking whenever he had the chance to, close to the point where he abused the ducking, Link had no problems taking out his Viola. Since her normal attacks do Ivy ass damage and her damage comes from her combos with orbs, it’ll be a major problem when Violas have a hard time utilizing orbs to mixup. But of course, new techs with Viola has yet to be discovered.
im definitely feeling like she’ll get some new stuff developed and im crossing my fingers for a general patch to add on/ alter some move sets, especially ivy, natsu, nightmare and leixia. all in different ways.
hell i had an ivy online accidentally relaunch me with 8 B+K, i was hype (reminded me of those good old sc4 bNbs) but i couldn’t replicate it and they were shocked too because they didn’t follow up/ do it again.
I say there is definitely stuff to discover but because the attacks properties and advantages were changed im guessing all the attacks that look absolutely terrible right now might surprise us soon.
The game system is alot different. I originally thought Ivy was just absolutely terrible. Her damage is quite low without meter. Also she relies on CH for major damage but moreso in her case than other characters. Also upclose she lacks a good pressure game without meter.
Some positive of her is her 236+B and 3B are good side stepping moves for upclose defense/mixups. My favorite move is 3B counter hit for now. Scrub killer that move there.
She has good long range punishment with her 6 B+K. And she has some decent other ranged moves(6A, 6B,44B) also some decent upclose moves, and a powerful grab, and super grab.(May be disadvantage tho too lol.) She is like a long range, counter poker or something like that.
What I forgot is how the super bars work and how others are nerfed in relation. I would guess she around mid tier someone in there but I could be wrong. Seems to be alot of mid tier in this game.
Also I miss the damn shoulder charge of hers lol. Thought the stance look cool too.
Shit it still says SA on my profile, I was there for a few years and went to a couple of tournies, but never really got big into the scene.
I’m now in GA around the Savannah are, moved here around December, and planning on going to final round at least.
Time to change my profile.
Also Ezio doesn’t seem to have enough but I play him for fun. He has some tools just not enough.
Here is hoping I can make Final Round. Lived in Atlanta here all my life but haven’t been to Final Round. Real life bugs me around the event time as usual.

not the best discovery but nonetheless
Well I Train with Viola and she seem so hard to Master. She have load of tool and I think she might be a beast when use properly but the learning curve come with it…
At the moment I love Tira but I kinda hate when I go back into Jolly. In gloomy I can really demolish anyone.
Hilde look like a uber consistent character…but still not my play style.
Going from SC2 to SC5 is a nightmare…
I would love to know what your Opinion on the Safest character in the game and It be a plus if it came with easy combo to learn (got the game yesterday)
Mitsurugi is ridicously safe. Also, in before people claim that Natsu’s attacks are safe. Nope she has some gaps and isn’t as safe along with the lack of a long range poke.
One neat thing I found about this game though is that you can record a players match from a leaderboard and you get to see their cheap ass tactics they use to win. This is great for getting knowledge of the game. It records the last 2 matches that they fought. Such a great learning tool.
Yeh Well thats great since I was actually thinking about trying Mitsurugi.
Hilde is pretty safe also (I think)…
Who do you consider the best between both?
(Can’t wait for a Tier list)
is it just me or is astaroth the sagat of this game
Mitsu is safe if you learn how to hit confirm and have proper spacing, otherwise he is well not safe.
2KB on normal hit is at least -16 ON HIT! that’s right an opponent can get a free BB ON HIT! On counter hit, the 2K knocks down and you can hit confirm the B.
3B is not safe, but 3B BE is, and you can hit the BE at the very last frame to activate a second attack, this is great for catching people that want to punish your 3B, it’s a punisher punish. pretty soon the opponent will not want to counter attack after a blocked 3B so you won’t have to waste meter.
33/99/66 B is also only -13 while the follow up B is -24. so once again you can hit confirm to see if the first B connects.
Avoid doing 1A outside of combo’s, it’s very slow and is -16 on block. so his only good lows are 6B2 and 2K, luckily 2K happens to be one of the best lows in the game, so have fun.
Did not know that. Going to have to use that.
Nighty’s a lot closer to sagat than asty, asty’s more like the gief.
Mitsu is pretty strong just initially ppl look at the nerfs at him and kinda overreacted.
Nah, he hasn’t got enough TIGER!-TIGER!-TIGER!-TIGERUPPERCUT!!!
Viola is useless once you learn the matchup. Against characters like Seigfried and Astaroth she’s a joke. It’s amazing that 13 year old got far in winter brawl considering how brain dead he was playing with her too. Week 1 mixups and easy to block lows, how the hell did he get so far?
