or the default layout? I am completely new to playing Soul Calibur on a stick and want to know the best way to learn it.
I play using this layout. I think its the best layout and you could easily A+G or B+K, dont really need to use the other buttons at all.

i play on a hori stick so instead of it being A on bottom then the top three are : x y b mine goes :b x y. would i just still make it the equivilent so my b=their x and my x=their y?
Yes. You can change it.
