I just saw the 18 inch spider-man 2 action figure last saturday , and I have to say it’s the Greatest looking action figure I have ever seen.
No they’re not. They’re 10" in scale, that’s 4" more than ML. The current SF line is scale to the ML line. And I have the 18" Spider-Man and it is one of the greatest figures of all time.
I was talking about The normal six inch action’s figures not the 10 inch Rotocast figures.
As far as likeness to the faces goes, don’t judge it by the faces from the official Sota website. i have no friggin clue why they have the prototypes for the pictures. If you look at an actual Sota Ryu in a store or something, you will realize just how different it looks from the stupid prototype pic on Sota’s site. They released the final pics of series 2 at action-figure.com as some of u already know and Cammy’s face looks a hell of a lot better. Vega’s mask is a lot better as well. One thing I have to agree on with a lot of you is the hated of articulation. To bad that Jerry from Sota (the guy who also worked on the resaurus ones) has fallen to the dark side and filled the new figures with articulation…
The faces are okay. I like that you can change them around depending on what pose you’re using.
Even though I only have them on a shelf, it’s nice to be able to switch poses now and then. I had Chun-Li standing on her hands going into a Spinning Bird Kick, but she kept falling over now and then. My Ryu is just standing there with his bag over his shoulder.
I’ve only seen Resaurus Ken and it looked good, but I wouldn’t trade any of my SOTA figures for it.
The Resaurus figures looked a lot better. Unfortunately, they were EASILY breakable.

Even though I was defending the faces of the Sota figures, I forgot to mention that I still personally think that the Resaurus ones are still better.
Does anyone know where I can still get the Resaurus ones? I’m looking for a Remy and an Alex.

I have Necro as well, and I’m sorry, but it doesn’t stack up to SOTA at all. I can’t stand figures that are practically just statues, and in my opinion, the SOTAs look fine. Hell, the final versions of series 2 (check southernisland.com for pics) look to me as if they were RIGHT out of the games. Very sick. Hell, they gave Ken both his Alpha and Classic heads. That is awesome.
I didn’t know resaurus had a Guy figure lined up for their 3rd series till I read this thread just now… I was really hoping they’d get round to him.
The Sota figures are great (I think), the articulation doesn’t really hurt the detail as much as it could have for the most part. Chun li suffers worst so far, and the upcoming Cammy looks almost like one of those mannequins used as a drawing reference: ALL her joints are plainly visable. The Resaurus Cammy figure was one of the least posable in the line but sculpturally that figure was perfect.
Sota Ryu should have maybe had a rounder head (i really don’t think the facial likeness is close) but the Resaurus Ryu wasn’t one of my favourites either.
Sota Bison and Sodom are perfect representations af their Alpha artwork and my favourites from the line so far. Sagat is a great figure in his own right, bulky, dominant and vey well sculpted: I just prefer the Resaurus interpretation.
Overall, I still prefer the Resaurus line. I know they were basically just sculpts that weren’t really meant for play but the likenesses in some of the characters was just spot on 
The 3rd Strike chars were just perfect and I was really hoping to see more of them. Maybe as this line grows I’ll like it as much: once the number of figures I like from the new line outnumbers the figures i like from the Resaurus line i suppose I’ll prefer it(as logic would dictate).
A Hugo figure from Sota would be GREAT! :tup:

Does anyone know what the 5th figure lined up for Resaurus round 3 was? Assuming there was a fifth…
There were actually 6 characters per series.The other 2 were Dhalsim and Dan. what a great lineup! Bison is already done by Sota with Guile in the works for series 3.Ibuki is in the vote again as well as Guy. Dhalsim and Dan sadly won’t be apart of the first four sets.Hopefully we get BOTH these guys in series 5.

capcom consistently treated him as a joke character, sota should do the same.
no way in hell dan should be made before e.honda.
i’ve got a resaurus sagat. never taking it out the package.
now that i’m older, and make a more cash, i can get a favorite to keep boxed up and one to open up.
i prefer sota strictly because i believe i will be able to get my hands on all the figures i want. i like the fact that they are a more interactive company & that they make a more interactive toy. and, of course, the resaurus line is dead.
