Sony has a 79% chance to go bankrupt within the next two years

Oh I forgot to really address that part, but yeah that poster you responded to is just a moron. He actually liked Legend of Korra and got mad when people criticized it. He’s obviously 14 years old, and those kids are always too young and poor to either know any better or afford anything. Consoles are cheeaaaaap and require no know-how, so for stupid kids it’s the best thing for them.

PC pirating requires no chip, just that you had a PC

Console pirating required too many loops for the average citizen to go through.

and obviously because pirating exists in other mediums, it means that it happens more often than in the medium you are a fan of.

PC gamers and their lol logic.

Honestly I saw more people mod and pirate games for their various consoles over the years than I have seen people pirate PC games.

A lot of people on here openly talk about pirating games for the Dreamcast and various other consoles. I’d take a picture of my game collection but it would take too long and I’m too lazy. Someday.

 No. I remember if people didn’t know how to mod a console themselves in the PS1 era and onwards, they’d give some random person 20-50 bucks to do it for them.

Dreamcast reads pirated games with no modding done whatsoever.

Not always. The ps2 for example only required a special disc to trick the console into playing burned games.

lol seriously. DC, PS2 and Xbox 360 didn’t even need mod chips. I don’t know if the current generations do, but maybe they don’t.

If you have the technical know how to pirate a PC game, it’s even easier to pirate a console. Even if there is a chip you just pay someone to put it in for you, there are stores that will do it. And then it’s just a simple matter of grabbing the games or getting them from somewhere, with zero risk of getting caught since the only thing that ever happens is the console gets banned from online play or the disk won’t read. No worry about viruses or spyware or anything else.

All my non-Nintendo consoles have been modded, and plenty of people mod their Nintendo consoles too. I don’t play consoles anymore more because the games are just so boring to me, outside of playing some local multiplayer casual games for Nintendo, and that’s very rarely.

Of course it would sell, things sell just for having Spongebob on them. That being said, I think anything vs Capcom makes for a good game.

SNK,Marvel,Kellog’s.

Typical case of “correlation does not imply causation”. So a highly anticipated movie gets pirated more than less anticipated movies? Word. I’m sure that study broke a lot of ground.

I get what your saying, but film and movie piracy is a different beast.

theres someone that likes legend of korra? Fuck that shit.

pc pirating required disc mounting and or image burning with a crack installed. its pretty hard for people incapable of usi g basic pc functions.

it wasn’t hard to go to the swap meet and have somebody do it for cheap. not my fault you and your so ially akward friends where incapable of asking or thought you where too good to go to the swap meet.

lol typical dumbshit logic from an console gamer who thinks his far above tbe pc gamer on the sole merit that the pc gamer is scum according to neogaf

Most sales come from people buying games for their children so no piracy isn’t even a factor like you would like to believe, you people don’t matter and never will, internet elitist.

Kellogs vs Capcom: Breakfast of the Gods

Most the shit I pirate, it stuff that hard to find or been discontinued/out of print.
If I pirate a game and I ended up liking it I end up buying it, as pirate versions have bugs or flaws to them.
Batman Arkham Asylum has a intentional bug where the pirated version has none of Batman’s move sets making the game unplayable after the first few minuets.

You people are all such spazzes. You insist pirating happens on PC gaming and that’s why sales are down for PC gaming (except they aren’t) but when someone shows you the exact same reasoning on something else you start screaming at the top of your lungs the phrase we all heard in Psych 101. Do you even understand at all what that term means? Or do you just spit it out when you don’t want to have a logical discussion and don’t like someone else’s point?

Some crappy devs that made games that nobody buys on PC came up with that whack theory and then all the console fanboys decided they’d repeat it. That dev probably doesn’t even work in the gaming industry anymore.

Companies have ups and downs. It has to be something really bad to have a company like Sony go out of existence. Even if they are/were in a down right now, there are a lot of things that would happened before ceasing to exist. This included scale downs, buy outs, changes in company direction/management, further loans, or simply riding it out and coming back around. Apple has been in the hole a few times at least and has come back. Sony has their fingers in so many things I don’t see any collapse. They are still considered top of their industry in many areas. At worst I could see a buy out. I truly doubt that as well though.

seems legit

If Tony the Tiger isn’t top tier than you better GTFO with that shit…

There are…about three to four hundred dollars worth of comic books I wouldn’t have bought because of piracy. A while ago I pirated Preacher, Y and Transmetropolitan and decided I need to buy them. Not only that but I bought other trades and singles because it generally got me reading comic books again.

My DVD collection also increased because of piracy. While its really convenient to have stuff on a hard drive, physical means I have more space for the computer. I also look for deals in stores just to get stuff. If my comp had a working DVD drive, I would buy more but them the breaks.

Books I just like buying. Having them digitally isn’t all that great since I don’t have a table to go with it (even then I just like owning books).

The one real weird one is CDs. It may be also associated with the DVD drive but buying them is kind of cumbersome. Even inside my car my preferred format is MP3s. Maybe if iTunes didn’t suck utter and complete donkey ass they would have me as a costumer.

All in all though, pirating turned me into a consumer. Ain’t that some shit?

Fuck year Tony the Tiger would be Top Tier. I have Tony play like a Mix of Blanka regular strikes and Saggat’s supers but with better reach.

yeah, i’d put my media collection up against anti-piracy peoples’ any day. the last video store in town closed about 4 months ago, and right now there are too many GameStops stores compared to the population so they will probably start leaving as well. how am i supposed to get mah shit?

i haven’t pirated software for probably over 10 years though. i think the last thing was the original Photoshop CS specifically to make my avatar here and that was it

also Steam sales and Humble Bundles made games too great to pirate. i’ve got over 60 games and i’ve probably paid 30 dollars total.

also this thread is all over the place
