Not sure how I feel about Sonic being able to jump infinitely in water since one of his weaknesses has been not being able to swim but I’m going to ignore it since this game looks great overall.
Playing Sonic Colors right now.
It’s rocking my face off. Any questions?
the only question that needs to be 100% confirmed so far for me is if super sonic is playable in the levels like I keep hearing. Once that’s been confirmed, I’ll be a completely broken man.
Well, there is this sub game called Sonic Sim or something like that. It’s pretty much a time trial deal, and I believe if I get top times, I’ll win a chaos emerald for each of the 8 zones. I’ll need to confirm that, myself, though.
That’s nuts.
I know its cool to hate on Sonic or whatever lately, but Colors looks like it has the goods.

I was just about to post that link =)
So I’ve read on GAF that the game COULD be released to 360 and PS3. here’s hoping that would come to pass X3
Maybe it was kind of a blessing that they only focused on developing for 2 consoles this time. I have Wii, but it’d be cool to play new stages and fight for times and whatnot on XBL
I hope this turns out to be true. I have Wii, but I wouldn’t want to get this now and then later find out it’s coming out on PS3/360.
Unleashed on PS3/360 >>>> Unleashed on Wii/PS2 imo.
This one looks pretty good on Wii, but imagining how much better it may turn out on a more powerful console would make it worth the wait imo.
you see the problem with that though is that it’s a double edged sword. Waiting for the possibility of an HD port is great but by doing that you actually lower your chances of getting the HD port since if what the rumors are true it’s going to be dependent upon how the game sells on the Wii.
Also the demo for Sonic Colors DS is on the Nintendo Channel. I just played through it once and it’s pretty fun…and…i’m not entirely sure but I think they may have actually fixed the spin physics in comparison to the other rush titles…I’m going to mess around with it more.
Edit:
in either case…for me personally I’m definitely buying it now and if a HD version comes out later I’ll buy that too. I’m going to make sure Sega understands that THIS is what I want from them.
I think I’ll follow Sonichuman’s route- I’ll buy the Wii ver. and when a PS3/360 ver. gets released, I’ll get that too.
Man, I need to up my reaction speed on Sonic Colors. I can’t duck for the life of me, lol!
GI Sonic Colors Wii Review:
Sonic Drops The Ball Juggling The Second And Third Dimensions - Sonic Colors - Nintendo Wii - GameInformer.com
7 I’m not entirely sure but…I think they got upset at the game because it has platforming…
well Colors is too hardcore for the kids to handle…they get so distracted by the bright colors and ring sounds then BOOM fall into a gap where they where suppose to press jump…next thing you know…kid has disconnected
Ye olde hold right…
Joystiq gave it 4/5 and said it’s a step in the right direction…
@ Sonichuman: The review said the spring platform sections were “jarring,” which makes me think it’s less that there’s platforming involved and more that it’s unlike anything else in the game (in a bad way).
This is the classic “people only hate it because they don’t know how to play it” argument that has, never, ever, in human history, been valid when applied to a 3D Sonic game. I doubt this time is any different.
You can however argue that someone losing to Dr. B just didn’t know how to deal with fighting Dr. B. He hasn’t evolved past locomotion enough to stand a chance.
If they’re talking about that section in the game that I saw in one of the streams where there’s a spring platform underneath you moves forward at a constant pace and only goes forward faster when you do but never backward…it didn’t seem that bad.
Empty pits are whatever to me since again when you first start playing a sonic game it’s inevitable you’re going to run into hazards until you know how the layout and general flow of a stage is…especially if you’re going to try to take the stage at full speed on your first go.
Sonic Colors DS demo is still fun. I’m a bit sad that the trick system is gone since I liked having something to do while grinding on the rails and jumping on springs. Boost power is more limited now because of the way the game is setup (based off of the wisps) so I guess tricking would have had less benefits of doing it. I was wrong about the roll physics being fixed…they just placed Sonic 4’s forward momentum there. Not really a big complaint considering I was expecting Rush physics anyway (yyyup…walkin up that vertical wall there…). I’ll probably buy the game sometime later down the road but for now it’s not near the top of my list of things I need to save up for/buy.
Except in this case it’s probably true. I wouldn’t trust much ouf of GT’s mouths, considering these people gave Shadow the Hedgehog an 8.0.
