Sonichuman, I think there is a list out there of all the sonic songs being related to songs in classic pop culture or reused from other classic sonic games…its going to take some searching though
the top two I can think of off the back is bobby brown’s every little step/ spring yard zone sonic 1 and tails theme from sonic adventure 1/ first stage of a sonic game gear game
I remember reading something about Amy’s theme from SA1 being in connection with a pop song…

yeah I know about bobby/spring, mj and what not but some of that other stuff I didn’t know was pretty interesting. If you find that list I’d be interested to see it. I never actually played Sonic 1 on GG though after actually listening to the track…sounds more like Janet Jackson lol.
This is a parody? I’m not getting parody from this at all lol. As a fan game this is very impressive…I like the small touches like the Robotnik flags strewn throughout the levels. The texture and detail work on the plants I dig as well…the only things I have issue with is that it looks busy as hell on the stage. Sometimes less is more ya know…especially if I’m going to compare it to that video from earlier that did Mushroom Hill. I’m not quite sure how I feel about Robotnik’s mech flying about the stage in the background. I think it’s an awesome touch but it slightly ruins the final battle for the game since the first time getting to that point in the end for me it was ‘GET YOUR FAT ASS BACK HERE!..WHOA!’. Of course…that’s my opinion.
Also I’m sure Sega will use its timbs to stomp on this.

Sonic adventure 2 was the best as well with knuckles songs… space trip step on meteor herd and pumpkin hill let alone the hours spent in chao garden
Not a direct parody I think. I was talking more like in the sense of him using Sonic’s likeness. I do understand that there are (crappy) fan games all over the place, but I’d like to see their reaction to an actual good game
after watching that video a bit more…Why is it that the fans have a better understanding of Sonic’s physics than Sega/Dimps does? That’s not supposed to happen. The running animation looks better too. Yeah…Sega is gonna stomp on this shit hard.
How about hiring these people instead? They’d be helping themselves AND these guys.
Unless these fan game makers are Japanese, Sonic Team’s too ethnocentric (and too busy trying, and somehow succeeding, to justify their own existence) to care.

I think the guys are from Greece. Not sure if they can “get a letter” from Sega or not, or how copyright rules in that country may effect them

You get a good chance to hear the game unhindered as well too so you can hear Eggman talking over the speakers and you get to hear the stage music better as well. Can’t really hear Sonic too much besides grunts…I’m interested to hear Chris Redfield’s Sonic lol.
Seems most people on Gaf are still waiting to see something absolutely broken/dumb gimmick. There are people actually looking forward to Colors over Sonic 4 right now…I feel like I’m in bizarro world lol. I’m gonna lol HORD if Sonic Team pulls something out within the 2 weeks of the game releasing. All I need to hear now is impressions of the final game and reviewers going ‘uhh…It’s…good?’ and then hell will freeze over.

Yeah I remember that panel in the comic quite vividly.
The comic issue that they’re refering too is actually a different time when Sonic got socked in the face…and by Eggman no less.
I’m more hyped about the Sonic Fan game made being finished than I am about any shitty episode of whatever Sonic 4 dishes out.
Played Splash Hill Zone act 1 and 2. Loved Act 1 but Act 2 was a bit weird because of the vine swinging (slowed down gameplay). I jumped through the ring to do the extra stage and I thought that was pretty cool, you have to tilt the stage to get Sonic to move. Pretty much stick to the PS3/Wii and iOS versions for the full effect. I find it odd though that you can pick each level from the start (playing on iOS vers)
The first shot on the console version has been fired. I have my points ready and of course I’ll give out my thoughts on it after I’m done with it. I won’t be able to play it till late monday afternoon though so other people who have Wii’s will probably be able to give impressions before me though.
My friend made a tool assisted video of sonic advance 2 on his ps3 where sonic beat every level even technobase in under 55 seconds, he was going to fast the camera couldn’t keep up with him and killed every boss with a 1 hit glitch:rofl:

Played 4…game is pretty ass.
Physics are ass, bosses are recycled, game is short and easy (first 2 zones I had well over 25 lives somehow) and stage design could have been much much better. I’m used to pressing down when I run down a hill to gain momentum to protect myself against enemies in earlier Sonic games, doing it in 4 will cause you to lose momentum (I’ve even managed to stop on a flat wall and was able to stand on it until I moved Sonic) so you pretty much have to hold forward.
For having to wait 8 plus months and the price being 15 dollars, yeah, pretty garbage. =/ Oh well.
