Wasn’t that only in earlier versions of the game. I believe the later Japanese versions of the game (2.0) fixed that.

The only thing I don’t care for is that running animation. It looks like he’s jogging and not really running. C’mon its Sonic the Hedgehog man, spin those legs! Also, I have no idea why they put in the Homing Attack, but its not like you’ll have to use it >_>

yeah but Mario’s Formula was more or less the same 3D or 2D…Sonic however just fumbled going 3D…Last great Sonic game was Sonic Rush on DS…and seeing this was cool…until I saw Episode 1…great SEGA way to drop the ball before it was even released…now expect like 10 bucks per episode or whatever.
I wonder how many late night brain-storming sessions and consultancy appointments it took SEGA to make a decision everyone had been suggesting for the last decade.
How about Hideki Naganuma? (Jet Set Radio, Future, Ollie King) I know he’s “new school” in terms of the Sega music scene but his works speak for them self.

Waking up to this was a relief. Hearing that sega voice, and seeing that logo made me have a HUGE smile on my face. I feel like a kid again.
I usually LOVE 2.5D and I don’t think sprites are very important. Still, that 3D model of Sonic sucks. If they’re trying to bring the series back to the roots, I wanna see this dude smiling with the untrustworthy smirk on his face that I grew up with. Fuck with the anatomical correctness. Maybe they should steal a page from the new NBA Jam game and give Sonic a 2D face.
It’s about time they took Sonic back to basics, after failing for 10 years strong, but I still got my skeptical eyebrow raised.
