ive been playing this game for a while now. and of the characters. i want one i can be really good at, the ones i play most are. vega, e honda, ken, and dhalsim. but i dont know which one to buckle down and choose to get better at. as i tend to just jump around between them and its not helping me grow as a player. so maybe you guys can give me some imput that would help me chose.
Perhaps go with the character that has the particular play style you like the best?
I main Claw, and to a much, much, much lesser extent Guile. I like that they are both charge characters. However when SF4 comes out I think I would like to learn Abel, simply because his play style is the complete opposite of Claw.
Nothing wrong with the big guy, he can be very fun to play.
He’s fun to use too while learning because beginning and intermediate players absolutely hate playing aginst him.
In the end though, it really isn’t about who’s best or most viable, (it certianly isn’t Honda), but who you like playing the most.
You pick who appeals to your personality the most.
Don’t like to think for yourself? Pick Cammy. There, I have chosen for you. If you find yourself resisting this pick that I have made, it means you have more of an opinion than you thought - explore that feeling towards the various characters until you find one that you are truely comfortable with.
lol yeah cammy is definatley an interesting choice… ill do what you say and just play around a bit with each one. and maybe ill find a connection somewhere.
The things that make Honda beastly he’s always had or has been nerfed. His changes only made it easier to clear projectiles and didn’t help him in his other matches in any way whatsoever.
What is happening is that a whole community of players are being exposed to various decent Honda players when they have never been used to someone being able to use them in their previous experience in thier circle of friends or the arcade.
For people who hate Honda, practice using Ryu, Ken, Dee Jay or Guile against him - he won’t seem so scary with enough practice.
i have noticed taht when i sit in a room only playing honda it gets picked off very easy after they see it a bit guess cause i dont mix up enough but i do see him getting beat quite frequently.
Exactly… Hondas don’t expect that kind of play against them. So when I tick throw them, their reaction is usually WTF, but they be dead before clock hits 50. Add me to your XBL friends we can get a few rounds later :nunchuck:
So your choices are Vega, E. Honda, Ken, and Dhalsim, eh?
Well, of those four characters, only one of them relies heavily on combos (Ken). Dhalsim’s the most different of the four, and you’re gonna win so often with Honda since a lot of people don’t know how to play against him that you’re not really going to know if you’re improving or not.
In the hands of a master, Vega is one of the most beautiful characters to watch, but he doesn’t have a lot of tools to begin with. He’s going to force you to think, to anticipate, and go into the mind games that make playing E. Honda, Ken, and Dhalsim even more deadly.
So master Vega, then use that knowledge to master the other characters.
Why not play all of them? I don’t remember a rule sayin you can’t use more than one char. Also whats with the “decide for me” stuff, just use the one you are more comfortable with.
