Anyone checked this out? Since I enjoyed Hearthstone so much I was looking for another free digital card game that offered a very different experience. I tried this out two days ago, and it is very interesting and fun.
Art is different but good, tons of cards, lots of interesting effects and synergies as well. The 5 lanes makes it very different, in addition to playing only 2 cards per turn (can only play 1 if you go first) and discarding your hand at the end of each turn. Discard doesn’t mean it goes away, you can draw those cards next time (you draw 5 at beginning of each turn). Most interesting aspect is every time you play a card it levels up which often gives it new stats and sometimes different abilities. Sometimes really sucky level 1 cards, become super powerful in level 2 and 3…so maybe you play that terrible card for the future (possible) benefits.
There are 4 factions all of which are varied and interesting. You can use cards from up to 2 to make your 30 card deck. Daily rewards are very good. However a few things. While in hearthstone it seems they tried to make every card good and interesting (even if it ends up being bad due to meta), in Solforge there seems to be a lot of cards that are straight up superior (like vanilla superior stats on every level, or same effect/better stats). Also I guess the visuals/music and all is very minimal so it may struggle to bring in a lot of players. Though there seems to be a good sized base since I find matches any time of the day within seconds.
