In my area no one sells sticks in a brick and mortar store, almost everyone I know in Maryland got their stick online.
There been a few rare exceptions at Game Stop, but those are far and inbetween, like the Injustice stick that came with the Injustice PS3 or Xbox 360 game was available at gamestop if you preorder the bundle.
Or if you got your stick at a dealers room at a convention.
Before than I seen the Mad Catz Street Fighter SE stick at game stop once, and then prior to that the Street Fighter 15 anniversary stick by Nubytech.
Wow in L.A. my local Gamestop says they don’t ever get fight sticks. Yet my local Frys electronics store had 6 Madcatz sticks. This was just prior to SFV announcement as a PS4/pc exclusive. Completely different than your area.
Well consider the typical Game Stop employee is pants-on-head-retarded.
And my game stop only sold arcade controllers twice and only for a short period of time in the last 15 - 20 years. The Injustice stick this was only with preorders of the special edition so it almost doesn’t count as they never had it in stock.
Also Fry’s is a very different vendor than Game stop, Fry’s is like the unholy demon love child of a Best Buy, a Micro Center and a 80’s Radioshack (back when they were good) in some ungodly threesome that isn’t fit for the internet and from this Frys is born. Game Stop with it’s current business model on the other hand might be out of business in the next 5 or 10 years, depending on if consoles continue to use physical media or not.
Fry’s is the only store I’ve seen with sticks for sale. If you’re lucky enough to live near one I’d try there. Otherwise you’re gonna have to go through an online retailer, yeah.

Frys sells sticks
Right now Frys is selling the Hori Real Arcade Pro 4 Kai for 130. 2 months ago it was selling it for 100 but i missed it. I’m waiting for Black Friday sales to get it at around 100. It will probably require a SOCD cleaner. Toodles? Where are you!!!
