Multi-Console Cthulhu would not give you Xbox 360 support.
To get Xbox 360, you would have to add PS360+ or an Xbox 360 controller.
Using the PS360+ PCB, you would have to route the PS360+ output to use the Hit Box Cthulhu USB Jack.
Or remove the Hit Box Cthulhu and mount the PS360+ somehow to be the same as Cthulhu.
Using Xbox 360 controller, like Mad Catz #4716 or Mad Catz FightPad/BrawlPad.
You will need install also the SOCD Cleaner for the Xbox 360 side.
You will need an Imp v2 to take care of the console switching.
Hello everyone, I’m currently doing a project on my modded MadCatz TE Hitbox stick using the Akishop PS360+ pcb, which
already has the updated firmware downloaded (Ver. 1.31). I still don’t have the perfect SOCD’s that current official Hitboxes
have, and I’m trying to figure out how to modify it without shortening everything.
I would like to add the SOCD cleaner in order to have something similiar to the official Hitboxes “perfect” SOCD’s like
the Hitbox Cthulhu+, but I think I’m going about it the wrong way. I’d appreciate any input because I think I would have
to use the upgrade kit/SOCD Cleaner without having to buy an official Hitbox even though I’ve put work into making my
own. Thanks.
I’ve a question and my apologies if it’s already been answered.
I have a MadCatz TE stick for Xbox 360 (round 1). A while back I dual modded it by adding a Cthulu multi-console PCB. I am planning to mod it again to a hitbox style layout and think I need this kit but would like confirmation. I just cracked open my stick and tested what happens in USFIV (X360) when I hit opposing directions simulataneously and U+D = U and F+B = Forward. Obviously this is undesirable if I want a hitbox style stick. So my questions are:
Do I need this?
Can I install this in my stick given that I have the stock X360 PCB and the Cthulu MC?
Yes, you need this. Yes you can put this in a dual modded stick with a Cthulhu + 360 board, just let it run to the 360 input points, and you’ll be fine.
Well, reasonably, you could run the TO buttons part to the Cthulhu. Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but if you have your buttons wired up to the Cthulhu, then run it there. Otherwise, run it to the input side of the terminal strip in the TE.
Ok, so basically I can add the SOCD Cleaner to the Akishop PS360+ then without
messing something up. I was also thinking about using the Arduino Uno mod that
Plagman used instead but either way is fine, right? As far as I know, both SOCD
cleaners would have to soldered, too.
I guess this next question is more towards Plagman, but is there a particular Arduino
Uno board I would have to buy (such as a Rev 3 or a clone ver.)? Just curious since there’s
many versions, and since it’s going to hooked up inside my TE stick along with the Akishop
pcb I’d hate to go through unnecessary trouble to rewire everything again lol.
So I have a PS4 TE2 on the way that I was planning on converting to a hitbox layout when I stumbled upon a snag. Any hitbox setup needs an SOCD cleaner, but I’ve recently learned that the TE2 is not common ground and that the SOCD cleaner (which I own and was planning on using) requires that the PCB in question be common ground. Will it be possible for me to simply wire the JLF ribbon cable up to the “to PCB” end and not have to worry about grounding issues, since there’s an up, down, left, right, and ground cable already there? I’m really hoping I didn’t just burn $200 for a stick that I won’t be able to use properly.
Anything you try is at your own risk. I don’t know anything about the TE2 in particular. That said, the physical arcade sticks tend to be set up with a common line in their harness, it’s quite likely that the SOCD cleaner will still work. (There are ways to make things common ground, but that might be like hammering in screws in this case.)
So when are the new SOCD cleaner kits going to be available? I’ve made a bit of a mess out of mine when doing some resoldering and at this point it would be easier to just start from scratch.
