I’m sorely tempted to go to AX (now that GGAC seems to be permitting personal sticks). I can drive and I live in Carson (just east of Torrance, over by the L.A. sea ports), but as I’ve never gone to AX before, I don’t know how much I should be prepared to spend.
Here’s the lowdown:
Anime Expo Arcade, in the Westin Hotel, is open to the public 24/7 and has an Accent Core cabinet.
The Console Gaming Room/Tournaments does NOT allow joysticks, as of last update. You probably will need a badge for this area.
The OFFICIAL Accent Core tournament run by Aksys, requires a badge and registration. Joysticks though, ARE ALLOWED! Here’s more info: http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=133774
Long story short, just come hang at the arcade Fred, get a one day pass for the tourney and have someone sign you up. Later.

Nuts. Looks like the seating for GGXXAC tourney was limited. ID got there ~5pm, and said something about being put on the “extras” list.
Just got back from AX for summer classes, but I was happy to have the opportunity to play Mighty, Dr. Stormlocke, pulsr, Purrin, and shtkn. I was the crappy Chipp player.
Also, maybe I should have posted this before the con, but sticks are permitted as long as it’s not in the tournament and badges weren’t that important unless you were one of the douchebags whining about stuff (completely different issue). True story because I was console gaming staff.
ID actually PM’d the guy Saturday night and render PM’d him Sunday morning. So we made the list n’ all.
ANYWHO!
That shit was so fun, lol. So much randomness and hilarity and awesomeness on AKSYS games for fixing glitches (Jackhound… :crybaby: ) but man, AX was fun. lol. Driving home tonight was the biggest mission I’ve had in a long, long time. Mmmhm. I’ll have to scan that HNK picture tomorrow, haha. Best picture ever!!! I NEED TO SLEEP NOW! ;D THAT WAS FUN SO CAL LET’S DO IT AGAIN NEXT YEAR
