Opinion of what? Notice how I didn’t criticize this new show, because I haven’t seen it. I criticized Tom Goes to the Mayor. But if it is just like TGTTM, the major consensus in this thread, it sucks balls because TGTTM sucks balls.

Me too. It’s a great show that I actually hated at first. That is, untill I watched and I just found the humor to be weird and funny at the same time.
same here. However, I dont see how that new show is going to change my mind. It was pretty bad.
Also, that outer-space show sucked. The one with that Wierd-Al looking guy. Horrible show. Adult Swim needs to stop putting on crappy shows.

I love pretty much all of what T&E do, but its niche humor I guess. One thing that explains their success, and bums me out being a fan, is that their fanbase is overwhelmingly comprised of hipsters and scene kids, as I discovered when I went to one of their live gigs. Also, Tom > Awesome show imo
I hate their shows and the rest of the live action crap they put on Adult Swim. I think they do it all original in house though and it was because they couldn’t afford to get real shows or some shit.
From the start I always understood that AS was for alternative humor. It’s there to provide types of humor you most likely won’t see anywhere else on television. But ATHF’s mainstream success seems to have given everyone this notion that AS has the primary function of pleasing people looking for something more standard. I’m happy that AS is doing what it does, experimenting with multiple styles/methods of comedy. If I want normal stuff I’ll change the channel. AS is the only place where I can see a mouse that looks to be drawn by a 9 year old have a five minute gun fight with a 7+ barreled machine gun.
