Had a lot of fun tonight, and got a chance to hang out with the Saginaw crew. Here’s what went down for the Grudge Matches (all 4 out of 7), along with some in-quotes from some of the players:
-
Ali Vegas v Obot64 Vegas Wins 4-0
Probably the most hyped match online, but Ali Vegas gives out the broom to Obot64.
Vegas=PGroove Sagat/Honda/2Blanka
Obot=NGroove Blanka/Sakura/Ryu
Not sure on the character Obot used on a Ratio 2
OBOT 64 vs Ali Vegas
WINNER - Ali Vegas
Vegas wins, almost one mans with sagat…
Ali Vegas - Congrats for the win
Obot 64 - well played, maybe next time.
Losers - PAY UP --Robotron -
VDO v Marshall VDO wins 4-0
VDO=PGroove Raiden, Cammy, Kyo, Joe (Ratios Unknown)
Marshall=KGroove Eagle, Chang, ClawVega (Ratios Unknown) -
Massu v Korigama Massu wins 4-0
In the only Grudge Match featuring SvC and kicking off the night, Massu tries the code for Geese and mistakenly chooses Sagat. He makes the choice to run with him in agreement with Kori’s Shiki and wins 4-0
I lost my match-up against Massu in SvC (4 matches in a row :o ).
He picked Sagat by accident, but decided to use him instead.
I picked Shiki the first two times, then Iori, and finally Kyo.
But, we did have the scheduled fight (Shiki vs. Geese) for fun.
The result: I won :D. --Korigama -
Benny v Bizounce Benny wins 4-0
-
Benny v Obot64 Benny wins 4-0
-
Benny v EGB Benny wins 4-0
All of these matches, from what I heard, went completely in Benny’s favor…sweeping all of his opponents. Benny was the Grudge Match MVP All Star of the night. Who knew. -
Judgment Day v Ubersaurus Judgment Day wins 4-3
Amongst all of the brooms, there was a couple of close matches…as a coincidence, all of them was by me. S-Groove got some respect (hopefully) after this battle for the S-Groove title. But this was by far the best ender, and perhaps the best overall Grudge of the night by many. Good matches, but where was the camera at? :mad:
Judgment Day=SGroove Rugal/Vice/2PsychoBison
Ubersaurus=SGroove Athena/Cammy/ChunLi<<Switched to EHonda
*In a close battle, the two rivals Judgment Day and Ubersaurus faced off. It came down to the last seconds in the last match, Bison’s psycho crusher against Honda’s headbutt, and Bison won. But the ref didn’t see the brass knuckles that Bison had in his hand…so Honda was SCREWED.
And therefore, I wish to excercise my rematch clause. Next tournament that both me and J-Day are at, I want my title back :evil:* --Ubersaurus
- Judgment Day v TKK TKK wins 4-3
The only 3rd Strike Match to take place, JD’s Alex v TKK’s Hugo…literally goes back and forth. In the end, only one grappler was standing.
OHH AND TO JD HUGO OWNS Man what fun that grudge match was!!! 4-3 my way!!! MADD CLOSE stick was still fucked up though,Anyway I think I"m gonna start playin thirdstrike again I’m tired of playin that game off of old skills see ya’ll soon and to obot (if he still will post)I’ll try tocome by thair this tuesday!!! hellI can even go and pick with VDO sence he’s just a few blocks down the way.HOLLA --Tournament Known Killa
The Robo/Uber, Scott/JD, and CheeseMaster/JD matches were cancelled prior to tournament play. Dre did not show for the CvS2 Dre/Massu match, so that was cancelled. TKK was pressed for time, so his matches with VDO and Snake were cancelled…or perhaps postponed
3rd Strike Results:
1st–Julian The Snake
Ken SA3, SA1
2nd–Vel
Oro SA2
3rd–Judgment Day
Alex SA3
Kim-Sue Il took a respectable 4th with SA3 Yun. 8 person total turnout. Congrats to all of the winners, and I hope everyone had a good time. On a final note, this will indefinitely be the last tournament I hold until…
