So what do all these changes mean for a novice player?

I looked at the patch notes but…Holy Wall of Text Batman! They are far too technical for someone who’s still getting used to BnBs and very very basic frame traps.

What do I need to know at the bare minimum? Based on some info floating around, I’ve learnt that :

  1. No more meterless reversals?

  2. Some nerfs to jabs?

…and that’s about it.

I guess there’s a lot more character specific stuff?

In any case, I messed around with my main (Cammy) a bit and I don’t see that there are any big changes, but I’m probably not at a high enough level of skill to notice them.

If you are just starting you don’t need to read everything. I would suggest you to only read the changes to your main (Cammy, right?) because some changes in the frame data may affect the way you play neutral. Some things you don’t even need to read the patch notes to notice (like the fact that her V- Reversal don’t knock down the opponent anymore).

The change to meterless reversals means that only Ex reversals now have full invincibility, so you can disrespect your opponent’s wake up more and mashing that Cannon Spike on the wake up is even more risky. And the jabs are a less effective anti air tool now, but this change is more relevant to characters like Ryu and Necalli.
