Damn. They could’ve done this a lot better…it seems they’re trying to give China a good name with this movie. They could’ve had a brotha in the pj’s learning from an older black washed-up fighter (Billy Blanks, Wesley Snipes, MJ White, etc) how to defend himself, while the reluctant teacher’s protege helps him quit drinking or doing drugs. They coulda done so much with this shit.

those 2 were kick ass. i’m not sure if musolini really meant old martial arts movies or not. rather, i think it more applies to old hollywood action movies where very little was done for fight choreography. nowadays, its not unusual to see a fight being choreographed by an experienced martial artist, and for the actors (if they are not already martial artists) to receive some form of martial arts training.

I do wonder if they ever address the size difference. I could not imagine any American going to China and finding themselves dwarfed. I am sure that they could get their ass kicked but I doubt that they will be dwarfed.

I hate Little Willy Smith. Probably cuz when I went to watch The Day the Earth Stood Still, not only did it already suck, but it had Keanu Reeves in it, and then all Little Willy Smith did in the movie was cry.

I like how in the original karate kid, dude had to wax the car, sand the deck, paint the fence, and paint the house to learn how to learn karate or to be more specific, learn how to block in karate.
From the previews of the new one, it looks like all the kid needs to do is “take off your jacket!” to learn kung fu.

Jackie Chan beating up on little kids just doesn’t look right either. At least in the original Karate Kid, it was an old man vs. a group of young adults. That was actually a fair fight.
